“It’s not as if bodies wash ashore at my feet.”
The television movie collection consists of three TV movies broadcast in 1992 and 1993 and two TV movies broadcast in 2002. The first movie introduced Dr. Sloan (Dick Van Dyke), a roller skating, tap dancing, teacher of medicine. There’s a murder. The police naturally accuse the first person they set their sights on. It doesn’t matter that the real killer ran him over in the getaway car. The police are portrayed as buffoons, led by their fearless leader Detective Sloan (Barry Van Dyke). The son is rarely seen in this movie but when he is, he is depicted as an angry contentious idiot relying on his dad to solve the crime. The highpoint is a chase sequence involving Dr. Sloan on roller skates. In the second movie Dr. Sloan raps, dances, and solves another crime. This episode is filled with nose jokes. And his angry son is still just yelling, this is a part that anyone could have played. The remainder of the movies are just longer versions of the TV series. So if you liked the series, you will like the movies.

Love This Series
I have always liked Dick Van Dyke. So when I came across this series, I purchased it and have enjoyed it all. The DVDs are of high quality for picture and sound. If you like mysteries that are not graphic, more like the who-dun-it type mysteries, in my opinion you'll love this series too.

Classic movies available
These classic movies are never aired on TV so it was good to access them. One of the discs "skips" over one scene.

Loved seeing these movies again!
Before buying this, I wanted to know what movies are in this set. That left me with the puzzle - are these really Diagnosis Murder made for TV movies or is this just a compilation of some of the 2 hour episodes from Diagnosis Murder?None of the other reviewers listed the movies and a search online didn't give me the answer either. If the Amazon listing showed the back side of the DVD set, we'd all have our answer! For this price I decided to take a chance. Worst case scenario, I'd return it.This is a 2 DVD set and these are the 3 movies that preceded the Diagnosis Murder TV show and the two movies after the show ended. Happy dance! The collection is:Diagnosis of MurderThe House on Sycamore StreetA Twist of the KnifeA Town Without PityWithout WarningI'd seen 3 of these movies but many years ago, so I'm very happy to get this collection and watch them again. It's hard to tell who put this set together, but the back does say licensed by CBS to Visual Entertainment Inc in Toronto. The quality is very good.If you loved the TV show and missed any of these movies, now's your chance to enjoy them at a decent price. Dick Van Dyke and Barry Van Dyke appear in all 5. The first 3 TV movies featured different actors than the ones on the TV show who played Jack and Amanda. The first 3 TV movies were filmed in and around Vancouver, BC and the last 2 movies were filmed in California.
