Relationships with unsuitable men
This book is all right but it was written in 1992 and some of the material has been used again by the author in a more recent book. It didn't give me any revelations but I suspect that I've actually read it before but had forgotten; perhaps that is why I didn't learn much from it. The condition of the book itself was not as high as expected or advertised, very much showing its age with yellowed pages.

Another must-read from Harriet Braiker
Should we "forgive and forget"? Better yet, should we move our bodies away from the poisonous, dreadful relationships that can only drain us? I think this book deserves a really hard look, because it raises the question of what being nice is all about. It really spells out that the "nice" person is just running from confrontation all their lives, but unfortunately, they run smack dab into trouble again and again. That's one side of the coin. We also need to understand where all these abusive or traumatic relationships are coming from, and its refreshing to have Harriet Braiker nail the personality disorders to the wall and basically tell people to "beware". We need someone to point out our boogeymen, and Harriet is up to the job, with lots of case studies and modeling the concept of becoming a "hardened target".

yet very easy for a layperson to read and gain much information
I have 2 other books by this author; she is thorough, yet very easy for a layperson to read and gain much information. I have her People Pleasing book and Pulling Your Own Strings; these are excellent for their subject matter and I highly recommend both. Its so sad that this author has passed away; I hope her books stay in print for many years. This 'Lethal Lover's ' book would be a big help for a person in a troubled or 'iffey' relationship, whether romantic or a friendship on the rocks or a job that's become a headache. Her advice is easy to understand; I will keep this one.
