Impressive performance for the price
This is not an expensive scope, and I am sure an the ED Endurance range will produce better images. But that said, if you are only an occasional user like me or on a budget, then this is an impressive piece of kit. Very nicely made and excellent performance. The field of view is more than adequate. The sharpness at lower magnification goes a long way to the edges of the view. Although I have read reviews that at maximum magnification it is "almost impossible" to focus, I don't personally find that the case. Yes, it is a bit fiddly, but even in limited light conditions, I was able to focus to a very acceptable level of sharpness, more than enough to get some good detail in the object you want to watch. Enjoyed watching a group of curlews hiding among the seaweed today at maximum magnification an hour before sunset in overcast conditions without any issues.Given the very good experience I have with Hawke products and their worldclass service, I can highly recommend this spotting scope.
