Line 6 Pod Studio GX Guitar Audio Interface

This product is great. It comes with the Line 6 USB Interface, a USB lead, and two CD's, and a set of basic instructions on how to set it up. Once all up and running, the effects you can get through the POD farm software are incredible and have virtually zero latency, so you can play away using any effects you like, and the sound is amazing.The final setup is that the POD is connected via supplied USB cable to your computer, the guitar is plugged into the POD, and the output from the POD device (which is a headphone output) plugs into your speakers, or headphones if you don't want to annoy anyone! As mentioned in other places, this essentially acts as your sound card (when on) so yes you can play youtube and other music on your computer and hear it through your speakers so you can play along/learn etc.A few gotchas caused my setup to take longer than it should have done, and I'm computer literate:Gotcha 1) When creating an account on the line6.com website (which you have to do to register and authorise your device) don't create one using Facebook, as you cannot register your POD on your computer using the authorisation software if you do, just create a normal once with a simple username and password. Once you do that, register your product on the website using the serial number.Gotcha 2) When installing the POD farm software from the website, which they recommend as its probably the most up to date, please ensure that all the items on the install package are selected. For some reason when I installed the "drivers" section of the list of things to install wasn't checked! So the Authorisation software (Line 6 license manager couldn't see the POD!) Doh.So as explained in other comments, tricky in places to setup, but GREAT once it is!

My favourite gadget for playing along with videos and being able to create so many sounds using the Farm software.

When you buy equipment. Spend hours downloading software, trying to get it to function, to no avail. Try to contact Support who have an amazingly speedy THREE WORKING DAYS TURNAROUND. This new piece of equipment sits there. Lit up and ON but dead from the neck up! What is one supposed to do? I felt like Stamping on it in utter frustration. SO. It’s being returned so hopefully I can choose another “Maker” whose equipment will work on my MacBook Mojave OS.

Getting everything working was a bit of a nightmare and I'm sure some people will give up. But its a really great product and fab software.

Great item

This product isn't bad it comes with a tuner and some example set up of amps and things.The major draw back is that you have to purchase additional Amps/Kit for half of the example set ups to work.This product is a bit steep considering they want you to purchase additional software items to make it work as you would expect at the start.

I bought this from a local music shop without checking any reviews up front, which I don't normally do, but with money burning a hole in my pocket, I was willing to trust the Line6 brand.Once I got the device up and running, it works like a charm. No latency to speak of and a great selection of tones available via Pod Farm. I've not yet tried to get it to output via my PC, opting for the line out on the device, so can not comment on the latency using ASIO drivers, but I've heard good things from reviews of other Line6 devices.The PITA part of getting this device working was the installation. I was getting messages stating no sound would be output until an update scan was performed. My advice for people would be:1) Set up an account on the Line6 website (you'll have to do this regardless)2) Download the latest version of the Pod Farm software, drivers etc.3) Install from these downloaded files, rather than the installation CD that came with your device4) Install the hardware when promptedYou should save yourself any upgrading by doing it this way, at least until the next version comes out.The next thing for me is trying to get sound output via my PC, recording some basic stuff with backing tracks and outputting this device back to my external amp, so I can use the Pod Farm sounds through my Marshall amp, as at first glance, they seem more rich and varied than my Boss ME-8 box.At £79, this is a great value solution for achieving the goals above. Loses a star for the unfriendly installation, which didn't really concern me too much, but I think it will impact some people more.

I get what seems to be a fairly common fault with Line 6 interfaces : The software detects a valid license but says it hasn't been authorised for this computer and "Pod Farm 2 will not process audio." You're then instructed to run 'Monkey' (basically Line 6 spyware), license manager etc, which keep failing. Others seem to have been unable to resolve the problem and the helpline was unhelpful. So I shall be returning the item.I give it 1 star because I've heard one making decent noises - just not good enough for this much hassle. Beware.

Después de mil intentos conseguimos abrir el programa en una versión más antigua de Windows, ya que parece que no están actualizados los drivers para los windows más recientes, aunque de poco sirvió ya que cada dos por tres saltaba un pantallazo azul y acto seguido se reiniciaba el pc. Hemos probado en 3 ordenadores distintos e incluso en 1 Mac y en el caso del Mac no pudimos ni instalarlo.Lo poco que ha funcionado bien está muy bien y parece práctico, lo malo la cantidad de fallos de compatibilidad y problemas de instalación y funcionamiento en general.Hemos tenido que devolverlo.

POD Studio GX is what I call an excellent product. It works perfectly with Pod Farm 2.5 and also with similar programs like Amplitube and Guitar Rig. Easy installation, zero latency, perfect sound. What else could I ask? The box includes a CD with Line Monkey software and Pod Farm 1.0 which can be updated to version 2.5 using Line Monkey in a very easy process even for a non-tech guy like me. The CD does not contain a user manual and this is good: you can download the manual from [..] web site and in that way a number of trees can continue living. Congratulations to Line 6!
