Unless you watch on YouTube you probably wouldn’t realise that you need to place the topper on the narrow upright end of the egg and pull back on the ball firmly, so it springs back on the shell. Usually twice to get a good clean break as it works by vibration. I found it worked well, but have only used it to crack open raw eggs ready for baking.
