Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2013: America's Bestselling Antiques Annual

I wanted a book that would help me identify common antiques. It appears as though someone went into an antique shop and just described everything in the store. And left out everything in all the other stores! For example: one specific cigar cutter was identified - but that's all. Nothing about them in general.The index in the back is not extremely helpful. It will say "Enamel" and give all the pages you can find it on - but not what objects - snuff bottle, figurine, etc. - you'll have to look up all the pages in hopes that you can find what you're looking for!Another example: Hot-Wheels are not even listed at all.Another example: Under "Furniture", it states "STAND, book, mahogany, tilt top, tripod pedistool base, c 1985, 43". If you don't have this exact book stand, then you won't have any idea of what yours is worth if it happens to be a different year, type, etc.I wish the book had more common antiques and a larger variety.

If you are getting into flipping stuff, this is a great book to have with you on adventures. It is a speedy flip through resource that tells you enough to make a fast decision. I highly recommend any of the Kovel books!!!

For over 30 years I've depended on Kovel's for a price guide. My last edition was 2003, and I"m delighted that it is as helpful as ever. I like the addition of a line of small color photos going down the side of each page. I'm beginning th evaluate some of my antiques in order to make it easier on my kids and grandkids. Kovel's will be a huge help in this.

I bought this book to compare price fluctuations between last year and this year. While it takes time, it sure is beneficial to have this as a go to book to see which items are rising in the market.

I wish they had more pictures of items you are likely to see, not just the best of the best. Most users would need it to see if the item they like are worth the price.

I like this book, but I hardly ever use it. The first few days I got it, twas interesting...but after that I just don't use it. sits on the book shelf collecting dust.

shipping was quick...not a bad book, I just think it could have been a few more pictures of the items for the ones that are just starting to learn antiques.

it is alright. does not give much information on the items themselves only the pricing and a few pictures. would recommend it as accessory to other books

Lots of information and detail for the avid collector

Good up to date book, but not a lot of 'Canadiana'. still plenty of info for those wanting to search out the value of their holdings.Thank youG. Brown

1st antique book. Very informitive, lots and lots of pictures. What a 1st great book to order. Love love loved it.
