VAVA 1TB External Portable Solid-State Drive (SSD) Touch/Fingerprint Security and 540MB/s Transfer Speed VA-UM004 with Encryption Feature for MAC and Windows System

I bought my first one with indigo when it launched and I’m happy with the second purchase now as well.

I spent valuable hours trying to get the VAVA Touch SSD recognized by the OSX platform. The software is outdated, and does not work with OSX 12.4 and newer. May also not work with previous recent versions of the OS.The accompanying software has not been updated by VAVA since the product's release in 2020, and remains at version 2.0.2. Vava customer support acknowledges that its engineering team is aware of the compatibility issue, and vaguely indicates that they have been 'looking at it,' but have not updated the software or posted this very significant limitation, despite still selling the product, with the product description still indicating compatibility with the OS.Further, VAVA has confirmed that they will not honor the product's warranty when purchased from a third-party seller, as it is being sold here.Hours of my time wasted. Sharing this to save yours.

The original box wasn't sealed. I was suspicious but I loaded anyway. I waas able to set up fingerprints and copy files but the next day the device wasn't able to recognize any of 4 prints set up. It recognized the password but showed 0 bytes stored and 0 bytes available. I tried to factory reset by saying I'd forgotten the password so that the memory would be erased, but the software said it was unable to reset. I tried contavting the Manufacturer (VAVA), for support but they wouldn't help since Champsons isn't an authorized seller. I am returning the device but concerned about my data stored on the device. I hope the fact that it's defective and encrypted makes it secure.

Vava 1tb ssd with fingerprint reader died after 5 months. RAVPower will not honour warrant. I provided all info they requested. They said that I purchased thru a non-authorized Amazon seller. Buyer Beware!
