Pointless
In theory you could turn this into a bass guitar if you changed the strings, the pickups and the wiring and if you manage to get one where the body isn't damaged. The neck, locking nut bridge saddles and tuners aren't too bad but overall you can get a better bass for around the same price. Like others here mine was badly packed and was damaged in a number of places. Oh, and the gig bag that comes with it is basically a dust cover with a handle.Set up was quite easy, which led me to wonder why nobody had bothered to try. In all if they spent a few quid extra on wiring and packaging it would have been a worthwhile proposition. As it is I recommend you look elsewhere.

Regretfully had to return this item
Made of decent materials. But not set up very well - fret buzz. Understandable on a budget guitar. However the real problem started when I tried to change the strings. The nut end is very weird with little screw points sticking out. Piles of glue, the strings stuck very firmly. If you could get them out, i couldn't work out how it was done..I think maybe if you're the kind of guy who doesn't mind getting a hammer and chisel out and replacing hardware - there's a decent guitar lurking in there for you to put together. But if you're like me and you just want to get on with playing, the Cherrystone is bad news.

Not what it promises
Even though I didn't buy this bass through amazon, I own it since a few weeks.Seems other buyers have experienced the same problem: badly finished or damaged after delivery even though the packaging seems ok.This is probably due to failing quality checks, mine came with paint chipped off on various places, a split headstock and overall unplayable condition. The headpiece was mounted so badly that the screws had split the wood on the top of the neck in two. It was also mounted too hight resulting in the lower and upper string not resting on the first fret thus resulting in buzzing and wrong intonation. I had to disassemble it, glue the wood under pressure to avoid splitting again and add two screws to make it workable. The bridge is just awfull, had to disassemble it to add some grease to the adjusters, reassemble it and completely readjust it to get the correct harmonics and low action of the strings.By default the neck thrustrod was so tensed that the neck was completely straight, absolutely unplayable if you set up the strings for low and fast action. The strings are cheap stuff, dump them as fast a you can and buy a decent set.The pickups are nothing special, just good enough for this kind of money, they work without problems as the same goes for the wiring. As I said the paintwork was badly damaged in three places, had to restore it using epoxy filler, sanding and repainting to make it decent, a real shame as the paintwork itself is quite good, epoxy base layer with high gloss finish.Would I recommend this bass? If you're not handy and have some experience with luthier stuff (I have built two other basses from scratch) a definite NO, otherwise be prepared for some work if you buy it.I've seen the same bass as "Fazley FSBB418BK headless electric bass guitar, black" on amazon and it looks to me like a better version, mainly because the first fret has been replaced by a stud which works much better.Too bad this bass isn't available as a DIY kit as that would be of much more interest to me being able to chose colours and quality as I desire. For a few pounds more it could be a way better instrument.

so I was disappointed when I opened the box to find the body ...
The guitar arrived on time in a undamaged box, so I was disappointed when I opened the box to find the body with a deep gorge near the bottom pick up and one of the control knobs almost dropping off.I asked for a replacement, which was delivered promptly, only to find that the replacement was also faulty, volume knob control was intermittent and the pickup controls didn't seem to do anything.I'm aware that for £150 you don't expect Fender quality, but I do expect the guitar to work correctly and not be damaged. Conclusion: Don't bother ordering, save your money and buy one from a reputable manufacturer.
