Hardcastle 80cm Universal Soft Car Roof Bars

Bought these for a 'staycation' and they are good value universal fitting roof bars.They are basically foam bumpers with one strap on the top and one on the bottom. The top is strap secures your load and id good for things like paddle boards or top boxes and the bottom goes through your doors with a rachet to secure them to the roof.This does mean that you end up with straps across the inside of the car and might be the biggest issue depending on the height of the occupants. It does also depress the seals, but mine recovered.But it is a good option in place of more expensive roof bars or a roof rack.

Bought to transport my SOT Kayak (Concept Glide 1+1). Very easy to fit and secure to the car (Nissan Qashqui). I used the long straps supplied and also two extra 3.5M straps as my Kayak only has grab handles in the middle. These extra straps were needed on this design of Kayak in order to give sufficient downward pressure on the padsand a secure connection to the Kayak to stop any movement. With just the supplied straps over the Kayak hull the angle of the strap was too shallow to prevent this. An hours journey to the lake and no movement at all so would recommend as a very easy solution for transporting a Kayak.

Totally happy with my purchase...really easy to fit to car (Nissan Juke 5 Door). Bought for transporting surfboards.Held two in place securely, side by side.Initially there was a little vibration at the front, but that was because I put the boards on too far forward.. once I adjusted and moved them back a bit(which was great for the fins as well as the Juke slopes down at the back) I could't feel that I had the boards on at all.Fantastic value for money.

Fitted these to my van to carry a paddle board. Perfect

For £30.00 you really can't go wrong. A bit fiddly to set up as the fastening straps with the buckle are fixed but not a big problem. The load fastening strap is okay and did the job but I will be getting proper ratchet tensioning straps.Seems well made, time will tell but very very convenient.

This worked well for the job I needed it for (3 tier ladder pick up and transport), however, when tightening on the first use, one side of the strap stitching ripped a little and came away from the padding. I don’t feel I was over zealous in tightening but could have been user error I guess. Just something to consider.
