As a teacher of about 10 years, I have spent thousands on books hunting for the best systems I could find to help my students not only to progress in a well rounded way, but to have a great time. I use this in my day job as a drum teacher specifically for pupils who do not want to go down the exam route. It starts with the very basics but then progresses quickly to playing with music and different genres and styles. Along the way there are lots of extra technique studies (which I find lacking in a lot of modern books) and 'extra practice' sessions showing more advanced and difficult exercises for when you've mastered the basic beats. The backing music sounds contemporary and real, unlike some other titles out there. A fantastic companion for your journey into drumming.
