This unit is great. I recently purchased a camper and installed a new propane detector on the wall. The detector went off so I purchased a $25 unit at home depot that didn't work at all. I took it back and got another to make sure I didn't just get a bad first one and that one didn't work either so I purchased this unit. It comes in a great case and comes with a bottle of salts that are used to verify the unit is working properly. The unit is very sensitive and has a high/low sensitivity button. I am not sure why you wouldn't want it to be to on high sensitivity all the time but it does work. Using this unit I was able to pinpoint two different problems I was having inside the camper and then find out that I didn't tighten the connection enough after I made the repair. This unit is worth the cost as it saved me from a possible deadly incident.

I picked this up after smelling gas after replacing a stove in my home and not being able to find the leak with bubble solution. This unit not only found the leak in no time (at the shut off valve), but I checked the rest of my gas lines in the house and found other leaks. My only issue with the unit was it didn't come up as "ready" when I turned it on. It does a start up test, etc. But the instructions clearly tell you to check the connection at the probe's end, and I found I had to tighten it just a little to get it working. Well worth the $115 I spent on it. Especially seeing how the $40 units fail in reviews to find small leaks.

doesn't seem to charge itself very well. good price but probably should've spent more for a better functioning one .
