Love this movie
This is a totally independent film, that I find very rare and is great. I love Emma Robert’s performance so much, she reminds me of me in this. So happy to own a physical copy of it. Highly recommend.

I LOVED IT! Don't second guess this WATCH IT NOW!
Okay i NEVER write on these review things but i just had to...I haven't watched a movie Ive liked in YEARS! I mean I've seen a lot of teen movies and a lot of middle aged movies but being in your twenty's you don't have many movies to relate to because people only like writing about teen struggles or adult life but you don't see much of the middle part, the trying to figure out what you're doing part. maybe I'm not making since but overall a GREAT movie Emma was amazing i didn't know that lil snick had it in her, along with Evan Peters every scene he was in even if he didn't say a word id fall in love, and John Cusack he was the hardiest character to figure out but once you do it just all clicks. Well i hope this review helps your decision to watch it because everyone should give this movie a try it will not disappoint!

Wonderful! Roberts was impressive!
I've been a huge fan of the American Horror Story series so I am familiar with Evan Peters and Emma Roberts. I was very disappointed on her performance this season. I believe watching her in Coven is the first time I've seen Roberts acting and couldn't decide whether her character was poorly written or if she was just a bad actress. After watching Adult World I was really impressed as her character alone made the movie worth watching. Otherwise the plot was the typical coming of age indie movie.

Could Have Been Sappy, But Surprisely Was Quite Snappy!
I hesitated because part of the movie was taking place in an adult book/porno items store, but I watched the trailer, and it made me laugh, and I thought how bad could it be with the cast of characters that were in it.I enjoyed the story line (simple and expected...hence the four star rating) because it was somewhat predictable, but heart-warming and refreshing at the same time. The entire cast did a great job. I felt sympathy for each character at times, and yet they worked through their issues without getting sappy and melodramatic. It wasn't a happily ever after ending, but it was an "I'm okay, you're okay ending." It teaches tolerance and acceptance, which is a very important lesson in light of today's bullying!I found it entertaining and realistic. It would be appropriate for any age, but little ones wouldn't "get it." I think fourteen to ninety would find the humor and honesty fun. If you are having a bad day, it will make you smile, if not laugh out loud.

Really well made
This movie was incredibly cute, I could compare it to the book The Alchemist with a modern twist. Emma Roberts is out there following her dreams, enduring the obstacles and running with them. She learns a lot along the way and experiences life. It was absolutely perfect. It made me laugh, and I could totally relate to her. It's the type of movie that artists and writers will definitely appreciate. Really well made, I'm surprised it didn't get a lot of amazing feedback.

OKAY
I personally love Emma Roberts and Evan peters but this movies was slightly painful. I found Emma Roberts character painfully naïve, to the point of insanity. She was also very annoying and just overall to crazy.Definitely not the best movie ever and it is debatable whether it is worth the 3.80$ .

Horrible: If you're over 30 pass this by
First, I'm a 53 year old male, and a HUGE John Cusack fan, I mean as soon as I see anything that has John in it I rent it or buy it; I just love how his characters always come across as the coolest guy in the room. OK, so I've watched a lot of movies and I like Emma Roberts too, so "win-win," right? No. This is probably Cusack's worst film, I got the impression throughout that it was one of these "stars want to help an upcoming director out so they agree to be in his movie.." but this movie is just awful. Emma Roberts is just this self-absorbed whiny, spoiled kid. Her acting and tone throughout this movie is just awful.. my wife is a big movie fan, a bit younger than me (46) and I had to keep apologizing to her for selecting such a bad movie. Her comment was "Well that one's certainly a B-movie." I think all these glowing reviews here are from teens and twenty-somethings that identify with the self-absorbed character that Emma Roberts plays. But seriously, if you have any common sense, save your seven dollars and wait as this will most surely be on Netflix or Amazon Prime for free soon; this whole "Catch it while still in theaters.." is just hype, I dare you to find one local theater out there playing this film, no one's even heard of it.. My apologies to Mr. Cusack and Ms. Roberts, I'm sure they had their reasons for contributing to this, but it's just plain awful, trust me on that.

Hilarious and Quirky
I thought this would be much more risqué than it was. It was actually a pretty moral, sweet story with most of the characters having a lot of heart. I like that the characters were developed and unique, not bland or predictable, and there are a lot of funny moments. My husband and I watched this, then I watched it again with my daughter and she enjoyed it as well. No violence, nudity, gore, some sex store stuff but overall pretty clean.

Adult World.
A sweet little comedy, not at all what one might be led to expect from the title; Emma Roberts is the star of the movie playing Amy, a college graduate with inflated literary ambitions, quite unaware of her limitations and in dire financial straits; she takes a job in a porn store which is a family-run business and she gradually learns from her new friends and her poetic idol (who provides a tough but meaningful lesson) how to negotiate her creative path. It`s a movie that will appeal to anyone who has ever aspired to work in the arts - it is amusing and rather touching. The UK DVD release is a bare-bones effort with no extras and no subtitles available.
