Great for storage and a wonderfull decoration piece.
It appeared as displayed in the photos. The quality and craftsmanship were up to standard and over all it was a nice piece of decoration. There is a rubber seal between the wood and the glass which prevents air from entering or escaping which keeps the contents fresh.

A lovely jar with a good seal. Only downside is no box, so not ideal as a gift.

Foul Smell
Even after washing the silicon seal has a strong, sickening chemical smell in the two jars I received today. Waste of money.Not recommended.

Superbe, mais attention
Bocal vraiment superbe : dimensions idéales, verre de qualité et aux décorations stylées (mais pas trop).Finition du couvercle à la hauteur. Mais malheureusement, c'est cette finition qui peut être source de problème. En effet, on a l'impression que ce couvercle est vissé. D'où la possible tentation d'attraper le bocal par le couvercle, et donc potentiellement une mauvaise surprise. En fait, ce couvercle ne tient que par le joint d'étanchéité.

Sehr schönes Glas, aber der Deckel stinkt
Wegen des sehr intensiven unangenehmen Geruchs des Deckels, der beim Öffnen des Glases in die Nase steigt, würde ich das Glas niemals für Lebensmittel verwenden.
