Does the job nicely
I bought this as part of a general upgrade from an AMD FX-4300; I'd been doing a lot of image editing, and was getting increasingly frustrated by the processing speeds. At a glance, there's not much between the two CPUs - if anything, the G4620 looks underspecc'd, since it only has two cores (4 threads) as compared to the 4300's four cores. But in practice, the G4620 is measurably faster. I haven't done any formal benchmarking, but image-processing time has maybe halved - a major timesaving when processing several hundred photos from a shoot. To be fair, this may be partly due to the fact that the G4620 has faster ram and slightly more cache, but it's also worth noting that power-draw has nearly halved, too (from 94w to 51w). And as an added bonus, the built-in GPU (HD 630) generally benchmarks slightly faster than the R7 240 that the 4300 was paired with, so I've been able to remove the R7 and further reduce the power requirements the PC, which in turn means that it runs physically quieter.Overall, it's all been good.

Was once a great budget friendly CPU
Have this CPU in a HTPC, works great, would have got the G4560, but this was actually cheaper at the time so may aswell get this as it's clocked a few MHz higher.Works great for e-sports games too, at an insanely cheap price. For the future it hasn't got much chance on upcoming games (and some titles now) but if you want to pair this with a 1050 ti or something for e-sport titles, you can't go wrong. There are other options available now though on a very tight budget such as the Ryzen APU's.
