Makes short work of removing dirt from fence post holes, however, a fence or drainage shovel, auger and large breaker bar was needed to remove stubborn rocks / debris left over by the builders. It’s quite heavy for people like me with arms like SpongeBob. Clay sticks to the inside making it a nuisance to clean manually when digging. Tool becomes very heavy when digging in clay.

Well made, really strong and forms holes very neatly.

I used these to dig nine holes around 40-60cm deep for decking and found them to be very useful. You're able to dig straighter holes than you would with a spade and the hard blades allow you to cut into the ground as you go.I made the rookie mistake of making the holes wider than they should have been, requiring much extra cement, but if you use these wisely, you'll save the cost in cement alone.They're pretty heavy, so a few digs, grabs and pulls can tire you quite easily, but it's still more efficient than using a spade. The only downside other than weight is that the rounded edge allows dry soil to slip through when you pull up, but that's not a major problem.These are best used in conjunction with a metal bar, such as a crowbar, to loosen stiff earth or stones, then the tool itself will easily lift the debris out.

I've got a petrol auger but for the odd post fix this is excellent in conjunction with my metal digging rod. Deep post holes before you know it with surprisingly little effort. Very solid with strong sharp metal digging blades. 👌 Saves me having to start the damned petrol auger engine.....

This product is well made and sturdy. I had to dig a hole 48 inches deep. It coped easily with the top soil, after the first two and a half feet progress slowed. Cutting into thick heavy london clay was harder. Learning the correct technique was easy, drive the jaws Dow open, the spread the handles to grab the earth and the remove from hole! Sounds simple but requires some degree of strength and dexterity

Been looking for one of these for a while and originally planned to purchase one from another store, however it was out of stock so i came to Amazon and found this. On the face of it the product is even better built than it looked on the images, and also it appeared somewhat larger too. That is not an issue though.The hole digger features extended rubber handle ends which will protect your fingers when closing the handles.Overall a great product and i would recommend

Belle conception d'objet et efficace.il ne faut pas non plus croire que l'on va retirer 5 kg de terre a chaque fois, mais progressivement le trou se forme avec sous les impacts des deux pelles qui vont découper le motte de terre, en quinconce, et retirer un peu de terre à chaque fois.Attention, cet outil est de bonne conception et assez lourd, il se peu qu'une femme puisse trouver sa manipulation difficile. j’étais moi même fatigué car pas habitué a ce mouvement certes un peu déroutant au début de pincer la terre et de l'extraire de manière verticale.voilà content de mon achat, en complément d'une tarière.++++++1.
