This made my job planting bare root hedges easy.This is not a spade, ideally used on your knees, making removing stone and rock a breeze , is capable of making perfectly round holes, and deep enough for established shrubs and trees.As a lover of trees this has become one of my favorite go to tools in the shed, thanks for a sturdy and well built tool.

Great for digging in heavy soil - it cuts through roots and stones easily and avoids damage to other close by plants/shrubs because of the narrow blade. Not the lightest tool, but worth the wight to get the appropriate strength.It's also useful for transplanting already established plants. A really good purchase.

I read a review which named this the spade of god. This truly is. I dug 260 holes in 3 days for trees to plant. The ground was basically stone and this spade just ate it up. I’m absolutely certain that without this the job would have been near damn impossible. Great tool, sturdy and really well made. If you are looking for this type of spade then yes this is well worth it.

It's a good spade. Useful for working along established borders, digging a trench for planting hedge or just straight digging for planting trees. However was a bit disappointed with the fact that the picture shows the handle to be stainless steel. However in reality its powder coated green much like rest of the spade. Still doesn't deviate from the fact that it's a solid performer and will last a lifetime.

Like others, I wish I had bought one years ago. Tough little item, along with the Bulldog tined lawn rake for picking up leaves these have been the most useful garden items bought this last year. Light but strong. Perfect for removing deep weeds and lifting and replanting perennials in the border.

Nice tool, does what it is supposed to. Just planted a hedge of 150 beeches in waterlogged ground and it did help. It’s also useful for small post holes. The blade does get clogged with sticky mud, but considering the atrocious conditions I don’t think a stainless steel (and presumably much more expensive) blade would help.
