If you're looking for an outdoor spotlight, and can't decide between solar powered or batteries, you should certainly consider these. They provide a wide angle floodlight that you could read by at around 50 ft. The pictures of their power are pretty accurate.Each takes four 'D' cells, so are a bit bigger than you'd think, but certainly no bigger than the common LED spotlights and solar cells. This twin LED type don't have any switches for timing or power output - or even an on/off switch. That's probably a good thing though, as there's less to go wrong, especially for something left outdoors and probably high up.The spotlight comes in two main parts. The lights/battery compartment, and the main housing/bracket. Just rotate the front light unit by around 10 degrees and remove from the housing to replace batteries (a bit like an SLR lens hood attaches). This is really easy, especially if you're reaching for lights fixed high up.The mounting bracket is articulated, and has a knob to tighten up at the correct angle. Three screw holes are available, and screws/rawplugs are provided.The I.R. sensor is quite sensitive, and will detect you from quite a way off, and at a wide angle too. Certainly a wider angle than the standard halogen I.R. spotlights. The good thing is, that the 20 second delay doesn't kick in until movement is no longer detected, and these are good at detecting even slight movement.I'm using these to light up dark stables and by field gates. In pitch black countryside they really do provide a lot of light, rarely turn off if you're in their field of view and appear to be quite efficient (The cheapo 39p for 2 batteries I found in the back of a cupboard that are easily 5 years old have been going strong for a few weeks, with no sign of dimming).Not a cheap option, but certainly an effective one.EDIT : When the batteries finally run down it seems the sensor is affected before the light output. The unit will keep triggering on and off at random times, although the light output is still really bright. Changing the batteries keeps it all working again. This is probably better as an indication you need to change the batteries than it just stop working. Just don't think you've got a faulty unit!

Although they seem a little more pricey, these lights are very well designed, weatherproof and work well. The PIR sensitive and lights up the lamp when you are still a good distance away. The mounting bracket works well and I was able to add a steel plate and magnets to mount it on a steel gate post. Would recommend.

I'd been looking for some outdoor lights but didn't want to drill through the walls or run cable between them as I think it looks unsightly and spotted these on a lightning deal for under £40, I had been toying with the idea of solar lights but as they were for the rear of the property which isn't south facing and past poor experience with solar lights I decided against them. These lights were easy to fit (3 screws per light) and were up within an hour and I just had to wait for it to go dark to fine tune the positioning. The lights are described as brown which I was a touch dubious about however they look more grey/black which I was happy with. They are nice and bright, they are a spotlight rather than a floodlight though so they won't illuminate your whole garden (and annoy your neighbours) but they do a decent job of lighting smaller areas and where mine are positioned 2 cover the whole of the rear of the house and 1 cover most of the path that runs along the side of the house. The lights take 4 D batteries each which are easy to change without taking the lights down and the units are weather-proof. Since I purchased them back in February 2015 I've replaced each set of batteries in each light once and will probably need to replace them again before the end of winter, I've had no issues with water getting into the units, they have held up very well to the elements and I would certainly recommend them and buy more should the need arise or if the current ones need replacing.Mr Beams MB393 300-Lumen Weatherproof Wireless Battery Powered LED Ultra Bright Spotlight with Motion Sensor, 3-Pack, BrownI would appreciate if you marked this review as helpful or not so that I can improve my future reviews

These are brilliant in more ways than one! Well made, work on the PIR at a more than acceptable distance and give a good light. We have one in a larder where the light switch is not in the best place which is quite dark at all times so if it is a cloudy day it turns on when you enter but if a sunny day it does not. I appreciate this is what PIRs are supposed to do but in a pre set unit that is not always the case!! This light has certainly made the larder easier to use and is a very much cheaper option than having the lighting cable moved. I have the others outside over shed doors. The benefit of these over solar lights is that they only come on when movement is detected as opposed to during darkness so they last longer if there are many detections. Again I know there are PIR operated solar lights but I have not seen one that is as bight or compact as these and if there is one I would expect it to be very expensive. These are quite expensive but I bought mine in one of the daily deals and saved 40% (approx.) but even at the full price I would recommend them if you have somewhere that requires a good light for a short time and where electricity or solar are unsuitable.

We have been using these Mr Beams wireless motion detection lights for many years now and found them easy to install and very reliable. We change the batteries maybe once a year but probably lasts longer. Just bought some more for our house - we really love them.

L'éclairage est au top, et la détection efficace. Pas assez de recul pour évaluer la durée de vie des piles.

*** Update: Die Lampen mit nur einer LED sind mir nicht hell genug, daher habe ich nochmals welche mit 2 LEDs nachgekauft. Weiterhin sehr zufrieden. Die Lampen sollten - wenn möglich - wettergeschützt montiert werden. Bei mir sind einige schon seit Jahren im Einsatz, man sollte stets genügend Batterien (ich nehme nur noch Varta) bereitstellen. Die Lampen gehen aber nicht plötzlich auf Standby, sondern leuchten auch noch mit schwächeren Batterien - nur eben nicht mehr so hell. ***Ich habe mittlerweile mehrere dieser Lampen seit einigen Jahren an verschiedenen Stellen im Einsatz - überdacht und auch ungeschützt - ist kein Problem. Natürlich muss man immer ein paar D-Zellen vorrätig haben, aber die halten schon recht lange, abhängig natürlich davon, wie oft sich die Lampen einschalten. Ich würde schätzen, dass die Batterien normalerweise mindestens ein halbes Jahr durchhalten, evtl. sogar ein Jahr. Das Licht von den Leuchten mit nur einer LED war mir etwas zu schwach, aber 2 LEDs leuchten den Aussenbereich nachts gut aus. für größere Flächen braucht man in jedem Fall mehrere Leuchten. Die Kopplung per Funk funktioniert gut. Sehr überzeugendes Produkt für einen annehmbaren Preis.

Lampade molto valide! Putroppo in italia è difficile trovare la versione a singola lampada e per ora le altre 2 sono ancora inscatolate! Montate in esterno sopra il cancello e sono veramente ottime. Sensibili al movimento (per esempio rilevano il mio cane di 10Kg) e molto luminose! Se le avessi montate ad un'altezza maggiore avrebebro avuto un'area di illuminazione molto maggiore, ma già a 2m di altezza, la zona illuminata è molto ampia! Consigliatissime!Ottimo anche il grado di protezione dall'acqua e dalla polvere che permettono un uso esterno senza problemi.Unico neo a mio avviso è che richiedno 4 Pile di tipo D (torce). Io le ho prese ricaricabili da 8500mAmp. In teoria dovrebbero garantire il funzionamento per mesi! Sicuramente costano meno che fare arrivare la corrente in quel punto!
