Cookworks Halogen Cooker
I realize this review is meant to be for the Everyday Halogen Oven Cookbook, but I just had to include a review of the Cookworks Halogen Oven because of the great results it gave me.I used it with this cookbook, it is very good at what it was designed for.I cooked sausages on the lower tray at 200 degrees for 20 minutes without turning them and they were superbly done, nice and brown all over and well cooked internally.Oven chips are a breeze to do and always cook well and are slightly crispy on the outside and soft in the inside if cooked for 15 minutes at 190 degrees.Pizzas are done in just 10 minutes and come out perfectly, not too hard on the base and the topping is just cooked to perfection.Chickens are a little harder to get great results with, but with experimentation of cooking temperature and turning at the right time can give very good results, can take up to one and a half hours though. The digital electronic controls and digital LED display are easy to use and are way better than the control knobs on some halogen ovens, they will also last much longer.Overall I give this Cookworks halogen oven 5 stars for ease of use, cooking capability, and value for money at just £69.95 from Argos. The Everyday Halogen Oven Cookbook by Sarah Flower is very well presented and gives easy to follow instructions and recipes, it gives you all the information you need to get the best results from of your halogen oven, so I give it 5 stars also, and at £6.49 is excellent value for money.

ESSENTIAL for anyone who has a Halogen or is thinking of buying a Halogen cooker
To use a Halogen cooker you need to know how to cook with it. The instructions which come with these items are woeful in their information and basic instruction. They leave you with more questions than they answer. When this happens however it is now both possible and in my opinion essential to reach for this cook book. Not only is it a very good price it also talks about Halogens, how they work, what to get and not get and explains what none of the instructions which come with these cookers EVER do!. It is additionally a book which is crammed full of sensible every day cooking recipes and tips and tricks which which when applied suddenly made this new spaceship like gadget worth the investment. Halogen cooking is quicker and much much cheaper than conventional oven cooking and you can cook ANYTHING in a Halogen once you know how. I didn't until I got this book just before Christmas. Prior to having It I had cooked with my Halogen just 3 times and each time as a complete disaster. It was gathering dust and I wondered whether to keep it as I was somewhat afraid and very unsure about how to use it. Having stumbled on this book by chance I now am confident in using the cooker and I do use it almost every day and with total success. I have also tried her recipes and they work very well. Sarah Flower has written a number of these books, I only have this one as it does all I need. Should I decide I want more then her s are the books I shall be buying. Highly recommmended.

"It is not a microwave."
Like many others, I am sure, my brand new halogen oven sat lonely and ignored in a cupboard for months before I finally plucked up the courage to use it: although there was a start up leaflet with the flying saucer looking device, it was very scanty of the what and how to cook references. but after my first tentative venture (just oven chips) I wanted to do more. So I bought this book.Simply written it explains the 'how's and provides a quantity of basic recipes, from breakfast suggestions - who knew the halogen oven/air fryer will even cook cheese on toast of boil an egg? - through fish, meat and veggie recipes, plus desserts (I especially like the sound of her will and cinnamon cobbler and the apple and date bread and butter pudding) and baking - cakes, scones and muffins. There are even suggested meal planners with different taste options complete with shopping lists. Finally, at the end, the all important interactive menu for easy funding of any given recipe.Altogether, this book is well designed, informative, simple to use and quick to read. Just rather basic in its recipes. But a perfect started book for anyone about to purchase a halogen over/ air fryer, or has one sitting, unused in a dark corner just waiting to be released.

Great book for the Halogen oven owner!!
Probably like a lot of people, I bought a halogen oven having seen various demonstrations, and really liking the idea in principle. However, once I had got it, there were very limited instructions/cooking suggestions with it - and felt at a bit of a loss as to how to use it properly, etc. So I bought this book - and since then, nothing has stopped me!! It is great for both simple and more complex recipes - and more importantly gives you which rack to put the food on, how long to cook it for etc. The whole world of halogen cooking opened up!! Was so impressed that I have now bought a halogen oven for my elderly parents but of course bought them this book as well!! They are quite excited about trying the recipes - which are written clearly and are very easy to understand. So if you have got a halogen oven, but are a little confused about how to cook, which rack to use, and how long things take - invest in this book!!

Reasonable book but room for improvement
I am a total novice at halogen cooking and, although this book did give me some idea on how to use this new method of cooking, what I really needed was more "How to cook ......." rather than "Try this recipe for....." type of book. I wanted to know how to fry, grill etc basic foods like sausages, chicken, pork chops etc, not recipes using those ingredients. I did try some of the recipes however and while one or two were successful, I found the timings given were inaccurate. To summarize up, this is a reasonable book for the novice but I found trial and error worked better. I also got in touch with the manufacturer of my cooker who kindly supplied a more up to date version of their instructions and a guide for the accessory I bought.

Best Halogen cookbook
I don't normally write a review for every book I order, as I order ebooks by the score!! But this particular book deserves as much recognition as it can get. My husband and I bought a nice halogen oven about a year ago, thinking it would save us lots of money and be healthier cooking. As so many other folks have done, we took it out of the box, and put it in a cupboard 'temporarily'. Sound familiar? A week ago, my husband, who is the real cook here, discovered it gathering dust on a shelf. He got fired up with it, wiped off the dust, and placed it on the counter top. It either didn't come with a cookbook, or had been misplaced, so I searched the Kindle ebook store, and found this one! Hallelujah!!! Even I can understand and use this one, and the recipes are superb. It has so many different ways to use the oven, and the pictures give you an idea of what you'll end up with. Also the author will send you out a newsletter which has informative things in it...you just sign up with your email. So, if you want to start using that wonderful piece of gear that's gathering dust in your kitchen cupboard, then I highly recommend purchasing this cookbook. You'll be glad you did!!!

All You Need For Your Introduction To Halogen Cookery.
If you are new to Halogen cooking this is the book for you. It as an introduction to and description off what an halogen cooker is and guides you easily step by step in its use without being patronising. I have tried a full half dozen recipes out of here and although one or two have needed some adjustment they all work well. The best thing about this type of cooking is you can actually see what's happening without bending down pulling open oven doors and burning your hands trying to lift things out of a conventional oven. This is probably the only book you will need, the recipes are not illustrated so if you are one of those people who likes lots of pictures its probably not for you. On the other hand if you're serious about getting to grips with this great way of cooking you should give this book a looksee. My preference is a "hinged lid" for halogen cookers it just makes life that much easier. Advice varies on the amount of money you can save and the time it takes to cook similar items in a conventional oven but you can save on both that is without question. A serious book for those who will (no doubt) get addicted to their Halogen Oven.

A Good starting point
I have recently purchased a halogen oven which is due to arrive in the next couple of days but as i have no idea how to use them i wanted a cook book to read up on before i attempt to use it. The everyday halogen oven cookbook does have some great ideas, i can see how having the book can inspire you to want to use your halogen oven. Its a starting block for new users but i can also see it can benefit others who have used theirs a while. But with any cook book it is about trial an error, cooking times can be slightly out or set too high, but again even with conventional ovens you still have to be careful with any recipe you follow. As for extra's ie accessories an when to use them this book does not cover but at least you can find infomation off the internet. I dont think ANY cook book out there is going to have a magic wand with it an everything is going to be absolutely flawless as thats not what cooking is about. But as far as im concerned im happy with the purchase, an the value. Common sense , being a bit cautious with the temperatures to start with etc this book will help aid anyone to give cooking a go on their ovens. I especially liked the meal planners and shopping list part at rear of the book its a great idea. The Everyday Halogen Oven Cookbook: Quick, Easy And Nutritious Recipes For All The Family

THE everyday Halogen Oven Cookbook

Perfect for Halogen beginners
I use this recipe book every time I use my new Halogen oven. Never having used a halogen before my recent purchase this book has proved invaluable to me. Not only for recipes but the tips and experience of cooking with her oven by the author is a constant point of reference of "how to do" for me. Excellent!
