Star Wars Rebels Season 2

Sith Happens....
Where to begin...With the death of the Grand Inquisitor in Season 1, and the teaser of Darth Vader, this season steps it up a notch as the Empire begins to understand the Rebel Threat taking shape. Several Iconic Characters from the Star Wars films and even the Clone Wars continue to make an appearance throughout the season as the Rebels desperately try to bring Pheonix Squadron to a effective fighting force.Chased by the Empire at every turn, Darth Vader tries to hatch a few sinister plans to catch the rebels but ultimately has to contiue to rely on the failing efforts of the Lothal commanders. The season comes to a close with perhaps one of my all time favourite episodes on Malacor, an ancient world where once the Jedi & Sith faught a huge battle, where once again the Light & Dark must do battle......

Darth Vader is back!
I am reviewing the blu ray disc set. The case contains 3 action packed blu rays. Crystal clear picture and great sound. No Spoilers: I really liked the first season but the second one is seriously incredible. In my opinion Season 2 is even better than the first one. The series is getting darker! Every episode offers lots of action and an incredible storyline. The animation has a much more visually realistic feel. And the light saber duels are much better! However it's even better if you watched and liked the clone wars. They bring back Ahsoka Tano who was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice in the Clone Wars. That's all I'll say. I would have paid the full price just to watch the final double feature: "Twilight of the Apprentice" (Darth Vader vs. Ahsoka Tano) Simply said: absolutely brilliant and a must see for everyone who is a Star Wars fan. It is intensely emotional, a true masterpiece. The season finale leaves you begging for more. I never thought this would come anywhere close to being as good as Clone Wars, but it's on it's way with each episode and getting better! All in all, the whole show is fantastic and every Star Wars fan needs to watch it. Recommended!

Great entertainment , includes many familiar characters
Excellent series of 37 just-under-30 minute episodes, very true to the original Star Wars series. One of the main attraction is the return Darth Vader at the beginning of the season WITH James Earl Jones’ voice. Vader is in great shape here, badass and as evil as he can get. Moreover, if you were wondering after the Clone Wars series, what happened to Anakin’s former apprentice Ahsoka, you’ll get your answers here. Also from the Clone Wars this season brings back an aged Captain Rex!. Princess Leia in her younger yeas is also neatly blended into the story line. As is Darth Maul and many fan’s favourites; the Mandalorians..But the main thing for our children remains the presence of Ezra Bridger and Sabine, who they adore. These heroes are now a little older and have evolved as characters. And what I do like is that in contrast with the Clone Wars the characters in Rebels are more appealing and show companionship as seen in the original movie trilogy.Visually and in terms of scenes this season looks perhaps better than the previous one. Every episode looks sharp and sounds great. Really glad to have watched it on Blu ray with the Blu-ray resolution bringing out great textures and detail. The extras are a bit limited. Two brief featurettes : one about easter eggs in the season, and another featuring mini-commentary from producer Filoni. The rest is episodes of the YouTube recap show "Rebels Recon,".To conclude; great set for the whole family. For 485 minutes total run time for everything on the discs – this was quite good value.

VADER
I love this series. It took me ages to watch this as my expectations were so high I kept talking myself out of watching it. What can I say it lived up to everything and more. If it was possible I would have given the first arc 10 stars for simply one thing VADER!!! Is there a more iconic or bad@$$ villain in any movie. This series just enhances his reputation. The great thing about this series is every character in this series leaves it changed. Great development, and there are a couple off reunions/confrontations fans have been begging for. This is also one hinted at for season 3.This is a more Empire Strikes Back season it is darker, also because of the success the Rebels were having they now face the full attention of the Empire. The characters along nicely. One of the biggest transitions for the groups is going from the freelance "Rebels" to now being formally part of the bigger more militaristic Rebellion. We learn a couple of secret and a bit of history from a couple of characters, others let go of old grudges as well as forming new relationships. Potentials for new destinies are shown, and some old faces return. Everything in this series it thought through and done very well. In fact in the Rebel Recon Bonus features one line that is very true "even in the filler episodes there is something that is, or will be important for later". Can't wait to get season3.

Great addition to the Star Wars universe
I fully expected this cartoon to be good, but it had moments that were actually brilliant and full of human emotion. Outstanding episodes are the ones that twist at the heart strings, such as with Kallas and Zeb together on the moon of Geonosis. The end of that episode shows the Empire for just how cruel it truly is and how lonely it is to be an agent of it.Watching Ezra develop as a Jedi is also beautifully written and along with this, there are some subtle jokes about Jedi training. After the slightly more kids friendly first season, this one dips into a darker world at times and is wonderful for that. This is a show that can be enjoyed by kids and adults together.
