Sounds amazing, great power, Customer Service Top-Notch!
I use mostly AirPlay and Chromecast with this amp, but also if PLay-FI works for you go for it! I had just purchased another (most popular) streaming amp to compare them both and choose the best one. I called SVS and the rep helped me set up correctly and get the most out of this Pro Powerbase, and once I heard the difference I returned the other streaming amp. the Powerbase plays significantly more powerfully and better sounding IMO. I use Tidal, Qobuzz and Amazon Unlimited and this amp plays them all crystal clear and in high definition.

Decent at best
This amp is WAY overpriced for what it is. It does provide good power, however for the money, there should at least be EQ adjustments. There are none. Sound is ok. It’s pretty bass heavy and muddy sounding. I don’t believe that this is a bad amp, but I do believe there are cheaper amps that compete with the SVS. Save your money and look elsewhere .

Amazing power and features in A very compact size
Basically all wonderful. I also agree that a way to control bass and trebles would be helpful. For the rest, a super price performance device.

Missing mid/high detail. Bass is overwhelming and muddled. Burnt electronics smell. Not factory new.
Judging by the amount of multiple layers of generic packing tape on the box, I got a repackaged/refurbished/open box item, not a factory new one. Batteries were supposed to be included but were missing, which is a tell-tale sign. When I opened the box I was greeted by a strong burnt electronics smell. Unit seems to work, just gets fairly warm even on standby and doesn't smell very nice. Unit can't be switched on/off unless you pull the power plug. The speaker binding posts on the back are low quality. My banana plugs will only go in less than halfway (~1/4" or so) and thus do not have a lot of "grip". If you have heavy gauge cables they may pull out, just by the weight of the cables. One of the posts doesn't hold on to the plug at all.I tested this with amplifier "loss-less" Apple Music over HDMI. Despite going through 3 software updates it still doesn't show up as an Apple Airplay destination on my MacBook laptop or iPhone. It does show up as Bluetooth destination on my iPhone, but Bluetooth is not my preferred way to listen to music due to its lower quality. The SoundBase Pro is quite powerful i.e. definitely loud enough, but lacking mid/high detail and bass is overwhelming, very undefined and sloppy. The bass was so overwhelming I was compelled to turn my subwoofer entirely off, and I'm using very small SONY SS-CS5 bookshelf speakers, with their back bass ports fully closed off. Still too much bass. It made all my favorite tracks sound muddled, with no clarity, detail, imaging or soundstage, even when compared to my very mediocre and dull sounding DENON AVR-X3000 AV receiver. The remote control is very nice, but doesn't seem to have an on/off/standby switch. Neither does the SoundBase Pro.The fact that I cannot get Apple Airplay 2 to work is a deal breaker for me, so I will return it.

bad vanilla ice cream
This is like bad vanilla ice cream. Yea, it's ice cream. And yea, there's vanilla. but, um. It's not what I expected. The sound is not very good.I will be honest, it's slightly better than the poor products Denon is pushing her. The sound of this amp is "ok", but it's off. It's not quite right. There's no low end, and the midrange sounds "jumbled". If we graphed the transfer function of this amplifier through the audio range, it's doing bad things to the sound. There is no low end. Like almost none. There is a lot of high end, which is nice. But the midrange sounds "cluttered" and muddy.I just listened to "free bird" and it sounded like I was in a '65 impala. Like no low end at all. No bass. I tried a cut from "Kinda Blue" - it just made me sad. High end was good. Mid range was weird. And no bass.I had high hopes for this unit. But I'm gonna box it up and return it. No thanks. you can do better. I promise.I'm an electrical engineer and if you like really good sound, this isn't what you want.It sounds "ok". and it's loud. but there is no low end at all. and no tone controls.

Not as Expected
I would not classsify myself as an audiophile but this unit is not what its cracked up to be. The sound although powerful is muddied at best . The lows are boomy and there are no highs. Without the ability to adjust tone controls I have to bear its poor tonal quality. I hate to say my vintage Carver blows it away in sound quality. I dont appreciate not having a power button so this uses energy all day long. On top of that Earc is not compatible with my new Samsung TV when playing DVDs so I had to use the optical line losing control of volume with the SVS remote. This unit is for a guy setting up an all in one type thing whee you have the ability to listen to music and watch movies and stream all in one box. Im more of a seperates guy anyway and should have stood on that path. I regret to say im returning it with the hopes of SVS coming out with version 3 that has an on and off switch and tone controls.
