Typhoon Vintage Kitchen Cake Tin, Red

Really good looking cake tin in a nice cheery red. There is a plastic ring seal inside the lid, which makes for a very good fit - in fact you need to use a bit of muscle to get the tin open. Would be great for biscuits, cake, anything that needs a well sealed tin. In my case it already holds a Christmas cake that needs to mature for the next two months, and I'm confident that this tin will keep it fresh while it's in there. The handle on the lid means that you can't stack anything on top of the tin, but it needs the handle to make it easy to open.

Had to send this back. A lovely strong cake tin but the lid had a mind of its own. \it would creep up while not being used and left cakes really stale

This is a large cake tin (deep as well) Lovely true red that matches their other items I've already bought.Tin has a good rubber seal & the lid fits 'snug' meaning contents will stay fresh for longer. I liked the handleon top of lid - no more breaking nails trying to take a lid off. For me the lid is neither loose or hard to takeoff - it is just right.As an extra point it is wide enough for a couple of packets of biscuits (open but with a clip on) as I don'twant to put our ginger-nut biscuits or cream crackers etc loose in a tin.I may now buy another 1 of these cake tins: 1 for cakes + 1 for packets of biscuits as the reviews for thematching biscuit-barrel were not too good. They can both sit quite happily side by side in the cupboard.They will not stack on top of each either as the good depth means they would be too high for my shelf.

Nice tin unfortunately no seal on lid !so useless really wouldn't recommend

This cake tin arrived damaged. Both the lid and the base. I subsequently bought a great Jamie Oliver cake tin from Argos which I inspected before I paid for it. Fab tin.

I bought this for a present to house a Christmas cake that I am making for someone. It is a very good quality tin and the finish is good.I read the review regarding the lid coming off when picked up from the handle - the opposite is true for me - I had trouble getting the lid off, it is such a good fit.It is slightly bigger than the dimensions given here. My cake base is 25.5cm and I thought I would need to buy a smaller one, but it fitted perfectly.I am very pleased with it and hope the receipient will be too!

My sister leant me a cream one she bought some time ago at a much higher price, so I needed the same one as it is the ONLY cake tin with a proper seal which keeps cakes, biscuits/cookies, etc in a fresh condition. Looked on Amazon & found this colour so much cheaper. Strongly recommend this for any buyer. The size is excellent: 10 3/4" (270mm) diameter including seal edgeing, nearly 5" deep (120mm) deep including lid, which has a 3/42 approx. (20mm) good strong pull handle as illustrated. I have a medium sized hand & can open it with either my thumb or 1st &/or 2nd fingers easily, but it needs a good pull due to the seal. It takes an iced Christmas Cake with absolutely NO problem, providing decorations are not too tall, i.e, Santa, Wedding Couple, & cakes such as Victoraia Sponges, etc. These, of course, are the normal size cakes, which any cook would know.The delivery was extremely fast, considering Christmas was due, by Royal Mail., almost Next Day!! Super, good sized cake tin. The seal keeps cakes very fresh and the tin is pretty enough to be in sight in the kitchen.
