It is indeed quieter than the factory unit.
The factory unit was so loud that I had to put it on low to have a conversation or off if I wanted to listen to music or the TV.Not so with the FreshJet 3. It’s not whisper quiet but no longer have to turn it off to listen to music or watch TV. And I can have a conversation even when it is on High.Unfortunately I had to buy the matching cover even though I was told I could use my existing. Grr. That was another $200. But the cover was easy to install and works fine.Over all I’m Very Pleased with the new a/c equipment.

Damaged, but works fine.
Received product with significant damage to the base and the cover. I used it anyways because it worked fine. Package did not appear damaged so it was obviously repackaged.

Works much better than Duo Therm
My factory installed Duo Therm could never keep up. This worked great even in 100F heat. Easy to install. Hardest part was getting this one on and the old one off the roof. Make sure to tape the inside opening and ducts well. Makes a big difference. Over a year old and very happy. Also quieter than the old one.

Make sure your A/C Thermostate will work before you buy.
After reading supports, I thought the thermostate control from my old Domatic A/C would work.It would be nice if the adds would offer less expensive wall mount controll panels indtead of $200. unit cover for thoses of use that didn't think we were going to need one.The FreshJet3 Is in deed very fine machine. Looks great on the outside and when you take the cover off it's like compairing looking under the hood of New Lexus to a Model T. Every thing is covered in perfect molded styrafoam . It looks like it's been made to take apart if needed. The FreshJet also has the gasket that meets the mounting surface glued to the it bottom .So you don't need to buy one. My old Domatic one was that way. Also you only need to wash off the area that needs cleaning and don't have to scrape off any stuck on glue.Nice if that Imformation was available in the add before I brought A Gasket???Installing was easy the only cable comming down off the cooler is the one with 6 prong plug that went together with the one on the old thermostate box.My thermostate control panel has 3 switches The A/C turned on the fan and blower but not the cooler? It just blew the 103 degree air really well but no Cool.I mounted the thermomater that was connected to my Thermostate box about 6 inches up inside the A/CI am wondering if the FreshJet has a Thermomater of it's own?At this point I was instructed by Domatic to take the top off the FreshJet again and get the model # they need. There are a couple of stickers at different places one of wich should have the Mfg # on it. I took several pictures but brcause of the location and the bright sunlight I did't get it all. I'll get it right latter when I can see whats on the screen ;)

Easy install.
I have a 2009 keystone cougar with a dometic AC unit with the older analog T-stat. I removed my old unit, cleaned the sealing surface, used some silicone sealant just due to the older mating surface of the camper is quite flat anymore. Put the new unit down, plugged it in to my control box (same plug) bolted everything together and works fine. Did not need a new T stat or seal kit for it. Total about 2 hrs of time including cleaning and resealing up the duct work on the inside while i had the unit out. Plug and play install.Edit: unit froze up and tripped breaker couple times. returning this unit.

Fragile, poor packing and very poor suppot
I liked the concepts of the new design and my other Dometic ac is fine. I read reviews about shipping/ breakage issues but figured they should be re solved. My unit arrived from California (I’m in Pa) broken-I couldn’t believe the packaging, one layer of corrugate and the ac basically floating in the light weight box. The unit is all plastic and appears to break easily. Amazon says they’ll refund the 3rd party return ship fee ($250) and the 3rd party approved the return- haven’t seen any thing yet.

Buyer Beware
I got the unit in a timely manner, thanks to FedEx. After arriving, the box was not damaged in any location. Reviews I read before buying, said the units for some people would arrive with broken AC's, boxes ripped and dented AC's. I took a chance and ordered anyway. The box was in pristine condition. Opened it up with the help of my service tech, and installed. After finishing and testing the AC, noticed one side and the rear with broken siding that lets air in. Sent a quick memo to the company and get this reply:Chris,We needed photos of the damaged unit and the packaging before installation. Once the unit is installed we cannot offer a refund or replacement. I apologize for the inconvenience.Thank youC&C AdminSo, there you go. You decide if this is the unit you want from this company.
