Give it a fair trial before deciding it's too hard. It can be life changing.
It is not very often that I endorse a specific product but when I find something that changes my life I am up for shouting about it. As a violinist, have spent YEARS looking for ways to keep my neck happy. I have spent huge amounts of money on fancy "designed-for-space" memory foam wonders and had probably getting on for a hundred osteopath appointments over the past 40 years. Even though I have now stopped playing professionally, the osteopath appointments continued as did the feeling of having a "crunchy" neck. Some years ago, when the orchestra I played with visited Japan, we landed in a small hotel that had on the bed the sole offering of a very firm, buckwheat-filled pillow. There was no choice. I expected to wake (if I slept at all) crippled, but was surprisingly rested the next morning. I could find nothing like it here in the UK until I came across these last year and I decided to give it a go. I won't lie to you. It is very odd at first. Hard. Slightly noisy. But after a couple of nights it became my new best friend. The theory goes that "memory foam" pillows are always trying to regain their shape and are every so subtly fighting with your head and neck all night long. Once the buckwheat pillow has moulded itself to your head and neck contour, the muscles relax and are properly supported all night long. After a year I still go to sleep thinking," this thing IS hard......" before waking up the next morning with no crunchy neck. That well-known memory pillow will set you back from £70-100 and, after three years ( it's suggested life span) will need replacing. The old one will languish in land-fill for the next 500 years or so because of what it is made of-plastic. They get hot, too This buckwheat one is half the price, organic, bio-degradable, hypo-allergenic (unless you have a buckwheat allergy but that's rare, I am told), adjustable ( just take out some of the buckwheat if it's too big. Save it though as it will need topping up eventually), COOL and made here in the UK. Even my "beloved other" likes them and I had to buy more. They also do a travel size in case you get so used to it you can't stand being without. What's not to love. This company has not paid me in any way to endorse their product. I just really like it and wanted to share. Just bought my 4th one (two for home, two for the place we stay in London) and a travel pillow.

Wish I’d found it sooner!
My husband and I joke that I am ‘Goldipillows’ I’ve spent loads on ‘orthopaedic’ pillows in a desperate aim to sleep well and get rid of neck problems and waking up with headaches, or sore ear from it being crushed in the night...guess I’m a bad sleeper. But wow, wish I’d found this years ago. The day it arrived I was excited as had a dull head all day that I had woken up with and was at my wits’ end. My pillow arrived and I immediately had a quick lie down to test it and oh my goodness! My whole body seemed to just relax in a different way than I’m used to and my spine breathed a sigh of relief! It was instantly blissful I didn’t want to get up. I made a little crater and lay my head into it and had a sleep. The smell was not strong, but I liked it and I loved the comforting little popping noise as my head sank into the little husks. I haven’t had a full night in it yet but I doubt my opinion will change as my shirt sleep was best I’ve had in weeks. Amazing pillow. Thank you to this company I feel so hopeful and confident about sleeping better now.

Star pillow!
I purchased the pillow in August 2015 and did not want to write a review immediately until I had time to think about it. I am not a person who has suffered with extreme back pain and do not have problems usually sleeping. After using the pillow this is what I found:Things I like:1. I enjoy the support the pillow gives especially when lying on your back.2. It is fantastic for watching the tablet, using your smart phone and for reading in bed. All the other pillows I have at home do not compare as my head and neck go back which makes your arms go up and you can't hold it for long whereas, the support it gives allows you to sit up more and your hands are able to go down. Also you can sit the pillow against your headboard and lean your back against it if you want to sit totally upright.3. I am able to move the pillow around to make myself comfortable4. I have been sleeping well with it.Things I had to get used to1. There is a smell of buckwheat I assume as I have never smelt buckwheat before. It doesn't smell like your washing powder. However, either the smell has faded or I simply got used to it.2. When I first bought and tried it, it was different as it was more firmer than the pillows I had been using.I am going to give the review 4 stars at present although this may be an unfair rating and it may possibly be 5 stars. I say this only because I don't suffer from a bad back and usually slept well hence I don't fully appreciate the benefits of it.I must mention that my mum loves the pillow! She suffers from back ache and neck ache and her comments are that she hasn't had a sounder sleep since she used this pillow. She intends to purchase one and make future recommendations commending the product.
