Fantastic set of scales which are well worth the money, and in my case (painfully) accurate!
Well I have had my eye on these scales for such a long time but was put off by the £180 price tag. I took the plunge and ordered them last week, and now they're in my possession I can happily say I needn't have worried or hesitated because in my opinion they are well worth the money. As soon as I took them out of the box they looked special and I was very happy with the feel and the build quality of them.It was pretty simple to set it up and get started. It uses four AA batteries which are supplied and easily fitted. The next step is set the date and time before entering your data into one of four user profiles, which was again very simple and took no time at all. Once your data is in you need to grab hold of the hand set and step onto the scales so it can record all your data, which it will then save to the user profile you just inputted. After this, each time you step onto the scale it will recognise you without you having to get your user profile up beforehand which saves time. The results on the scale are really comprehensive giving you BMI, total body fat %, segmental body fat % and muscle mass for each arm, leg and the trunk; total muscle mass, bone density, BMR (in calories and kJ), visceral fat rating, body water %, metabolic age and physical rating. Prior to buying these scales I have been taking measurements of my waist, hips, forearm and wrist and then entering the info alongside my personal stats into a calculator I found online to get my body fat but I was never convinced I was measuring right or that the figure I got back was right. Now I have these scales I know I have something I can trust.Just by reading through the manuals/leaflets that come with it you can see that a number hasn't just been plucked out of the air and so far the readings have all been very consistent and if I'm honest, if I look at the whole picture and at my own physique, the combination of the readings paints a pretty accurate picture of what I see and what I already know, so it is great to have the info in numbers as it gives a baseline to work from. When I first went on it I was disappointed as my body fat % was higher than I expected and other measures were not as good as I'd hoped so it was a reality check. Metabolic age was a shocker, even though I admit I'm out of shape at the moment and trying to get my fitness back. So anyone thinking of getting these scales just brace yourself for what they may tell you as it might not be what you want to see or hear and as I say it truly is a reality check. However, in my case other results were re-assuring. Even though I was disappointed my body fat was higher than I wanted it to be I was happy to see that my visceral fat rating was pretty low and using these scales has served to motivate me to really continue in my quest to lose weight (and keep it off this time!), get fit and continue to put the effort in with the gym and diet.I am also impressed by how quickly the scales record all of the data. In a matter of seconds you have a reading. Also, when I ordered the scales I thought they only measured in kg but in actual fact you can get lbs and stones by pressing the button on the back of the scales. Each time you click it cycles between kg, lbs and stones. If you're not careful you'd miss it and not even realise it was there so that was a bonus find.I would heartily recommend these scales to anybody. If like me you are really into health and fitness and healthy eating but are a slave to the scales, whose enthusiasm and motivation is easily knocked if you can't see progress on the scales, regardless of whether you may be progressing in other ways such as losing inches or getting fitter etc and want cold hard facts to spur you on then these are the scales for you, believe me! I was torn between these and the Tanita BC543 but I decided that it was worth the extra money for the hand electrodes and the segmental readings etc otherwise in 6 months time I'd have probably ended up buying these anyway. So all I can say is go for it, you won't be disappointed!EDIT: I should also add the customer service at Amazon is fantastic. Within 7 days of me purchasing the scales the price dropped significantly and they refunded me the difference when I contacted them. So keep an eye on the price before you buy as they do drop sometimes by £30-£50 and then go back to around £180, so be aware. Well worth it at £180 and an absolute bargain when they drop in price.

Great product
Oh wow! Three of my great friends have these exact same scales and each of them when they tried each others, they decided to buy their own and now I have done the same. What a great product. So easy to program in your own details too which actually makes such a refreshing change, as generally when they "say" this, I find it's a nightmare. I really do love this product and I am so pleased I got it. Delivery was super swift and the price was good as it was reduced when I purchased it, so that was also an added bonus. We are both well chuffed and would highly recommend these.

Great set of scale if used correctly, but expensive.
Bought these to monitor my fat and muscle levels as I decided to hit the gym more seriously and wanted to closely monitor myself to see where I was going wrong/right.Very easy to set up and has recognised me every time I have stood on.They feel good, solid quality and are adjustable to show KG/LB/Stone-LB by pressing a small button underneath the machine. Now for the readings...The machine takes several seconds to display readings showing the 3 main ones automatically (Weight, BMI and Fat).At a press of a button it will scroll through the following (in order)...Weight, BMI, Fat, Water, Muscle, Physical Rating, Bone, Calories, KJ, Age, Visceral Fat.Then you can also view the following by pressing the corresponding buttons...FATS... R Arm, L Arm, Trunk, R Leg, L Leg.MUSCLE... R Arm, L Arm, Trunk, R Leg, L Leg.My weight has been very accurate I would say, including body weight and bone weight. I have just fluctuated in body weight by a LB or 2 since buying them, where my bone weight has been either 7.6lb or 7.8lb, so I think 0.2lb is not much of a variation to worry about.Since buying them I have weighed myself every day (bar one or two) my fat levels have seen readings between 14.7% (19/4/13) and 12.7% (17/5/15) in this period so I know it to be heading in the right direction. However, I have seen figures all over the place during this time scale of 16.7% and 12.4% (on the 2/5 and the 5/5 respectively). I could put this to being in different states each time I weighed myself. I try to weight myself at the same time each day, when I get up and after a pee, but working shifts this can mean its 5am or 1pm.My muscle levels show a similar fluctuation in weight of between 147.8lb (19/4/13) and 151.6lb (17/5/13) and an up/down scale in between. Its the same with the other weight and percentage readings, they fluctuate, but are constant too, my right side arm is always 1/2lb more than my left side and my right leg compared with my left is always 1lb more with muscle weight and my fat % is always a little more on my left side.I am not too worried about this fluctuation as the overall readings show an average steady trend of a decline in fat and increase in muscle, which is what we all want.Weigh yourself everyday and keep a record of it, but don't worry to much about your day to day weight as its a marathon and not a sprint, so just think of the overall trend.Talking about keeping a record, its a shame that the scales cant be downloaded (the biggest issue in my mind), you have to keep a paper record of what is happening. I bought a book to do exactly this. There is also a Tanita app for the iPhone (not sure if available for others) that you can enter the information into this. This has had rather poor reviews by users, but to be honest I find it excellent and VERY helpful for these scales as it shows graphs of what is happening so you can see at a glance rather than flicking through pages of written records. The main problem for me is that you cant enter st/lb, only lb, so I have to convert my weights to LBs (I am still old school and like to know Stones). In conclusion they are a very good scale and very helpful, but rather expensive and missing a few tricks (like downloading data).I would recommend them still.

Finally I got one. :-)I had my first fast delivery on monday, but when I got it to work, I found out that it was faulty it didn't give te segmental reading as soon I measure my weight, on the screen came up with lines and soon after switched off, without any readingI contacted Amazon, explained the issues and without hesitation the sent me another replacement the next dayI sent the faulty scales back in no time and next day I got the replacementI got my Scale on tuesday, got it to work, and it WoW me big time. It does what it says on the tinand as I am Study Nutrition and Personal Trainer, this tool is going to be very handy for what I want to do.I am on track with my weight loss and fitness level and this scale will give me an idea of the results I needfor the price I paid is a good piece of kit to have, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is into fitness like myselfoverallI Am very satisfied so far with the scales and of course with the serviceThank you Amazon UK, keep up the good work,

What’s this ?
I am so frustrated I bought this after all my research. Firstly the numbers pass by so quickly you don’t realise almost anything.. It costs 200 but doesn’t store them in the phone/ipad as you must pay the 500 value of another scale of the company to have them stored. I also press the result button and nothing comes up so overall is not easy to use as well. I took some color of the box so I don’t think I ll be refunded as well so won’t make the effort to go to the post office . A total loss , I will have to order another brand now and repay

Tanita segmental body scale
This is an excellent product, well worth the £180. It gives wt, and segmented per cent fat and muscle as it says it would. BMI is a new feature. It MUST be used on a flat and solid surface and MUST be used when one is well hydrated. For me this means a body water of 54-55 percent. If measures taken when dehydrated, ie on arising in am, then measures (except weight only) are inaccurate. The scales are highly reliable if hydration is controlled. (I believe this is because the bioelectric current cannot distinguish fat from muscle and bone unless there is sufficient body water.) My only complaint is that this particular version is so new that the manual and charts included are slightly out of date.

Accurate scales if you know what your doing
Very accurate body composition . Time to these scales are old so there’s no smart link up with phone , you have some skill reading the results more suited for those who can do skin fold measurements. These scales are really good at reading the internal visceral fat . Been using them for over 14 years , never anything close to the accuracy. I use daily as I own a gym and I’m on my second set as the nearest competitor to this scales are probably in the thousands cost wise . You will need a book or notes in phone to record results . But what it lacks in connectability it makes up for inaccuracy.

No electronic data transfer via SD Card? Amazon Japan selling a newer version with SD card and at a lower price!
First of all let me say that this is a good quality set of scales. They're accurate and take some really useful measurements. Body weight, BMI, body fat per cent, total body water per cent, muscle mass, physique rating, bone mass, basal metabolic rate, metabolic age, and visceral fat level. All of these are fantastic to get in one set of scales. They look good too, and are nice and light to carry around. Now for the reasons why I only gave three stars.Major quibble. With all those electronic functions packed into the hand unit, why doesn't this product allow electronic data transfer via SD card or even bluetooth? Especially considering the price that I had to pay for them. They're made in Japan by a Japanese company, surely electronic data transfer into excel on a PC should come as standard?Minor quibble. The translation for the instructions isn't that good. What does 'hidden obese' mean for the upper range of physigue ratings? Why say overfat when you could simply say overweight in plain English?I took a look at the Amazon Japan website and saw that Tanita do indeed manufacture these scales with SD card and computer/mobile apps. This version is also being sold at about 30 per cent lower cost to the consumer.Come on Tanita (and Amazon) please stop offloading old stock onto customers at inflated prices and let us have access to the latest products. See here for newer version on Amazon.co.jp site: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B009VTJJ12/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP.

Could never get the scale to store user info for the next use. Instructions did not include how to find user info. After 3 months scale reported only about 75% of actual weight.Avoid this product at all costs.

Embalaje y entrega perfectas.
