Sealey Pft12 On-Vehicle Micro Pipe Flaring Tool

At the price it might seem like overkill but it makes perfect pipe flares every time. I struggled with my cheap Draper flare tool which would eventually produce barely acceptable results when mounted in a vice where the process could be closely monitored but next to useless when handheld for use under the car.This Sealey tool uses a stop which sets the brake pipe in the ideal position relative to the clamp so that the correct length of pipe is exposed for the flaring process. The clamp holds the pipe firmly in position and the punch is tightened against the pipe over a fixed distance. There's no 'near enough' or 'that looks about right' involved, which is just what you need for the intended on-vehicle use in cramped conditions. Too little exposed pipe won't produce a good flare and too much would cause a bend or split so this tool takes away the guesswork.Visually identical tool (without the Sealey branding comprised of sticker on the plastic storage box and leaflet) is available on a popular auction site for £36.99 including delivery.
