will this measure the temp in a room instead of a freezer.... i want to see the heat of a room instead will it work?

I've compared it's reading with our digital room thermostat. Freezer thermometer 22 deg.C and Thermostat 23 deg.C. So it's reasonably accurate at room temperature and fairly cheap. I presume you've looked at what's available by way of genuine room thermometers which might be more attractive.

I have just purchased 3 and none are working.

have you put it in the centre of your fridge/ freezer? it needs to be in the centre to get an accurate reading if yes have you checked your temp control, I have a dial temp control in the fridge I check it daily as I can turn the dial without realising just by brushing past it

Would the package fit through a letterbox? Can I afford to be out when it arrives?

It is not a big item and I think it came in a box inside a padded envelope. I have just tried my thermometer against the letter box and the answer is NO, it would not fit. Hope this helps. Great little thermometer.

Does it get in the way in the fridge when hanging?

I don’t hang it, I sit it on the shelf, it does not in the way, it’s small.
