Wow!
If you are going to make your own JST-XH wiring setups, you are going to need a set of crimpers. Trying to do it with a set of needle nose plyers won't work. Just holding the metal end is difficult! These crimpers are well thought out, hold the metal end in place while you thread in the wire, and crimps it Exactly. They are heavy duty, well made and do a fantastic job crimping little bity connectors! They are for bare ended connectors like jst or Dupont type units. The crimping action takes almost no effort. Well done! These are not going to fall apart.

Dupont crimping tool
I'm doing a project that requires a significant quantity of Dupont connections. So I purchased the kit of connectors along with the ribbon cable. I also purchased this crimping tool. The tool is of excelent quality, very sturdy and tight fitting jaws. The issue that I had was that the size of the tool was too large to fit on the short tail ends of the cable. On a single connector the tool worked perfectly but trying to crimp the connectors on a multi-conductor cable was quite challenging.

Good Quality Crimpers for the Money. What You Need for Dupont Connector Terminals.
While a lot of items in our daily lives have gotten more expensive, I'm amazed at how some have come down in price. These pliers fit into that category. Ratcheting crimpers like this used to go for $40-50 every day of the week, but now that we have Amazon, they cost less than half that amount.True, the finish isn't perfectly smooth, and the handles are a hard plastic rather than something soft and cushioned, but the dies and jaws are machined well and are reminiscent of one of the more expensive tools. I like that with the lower prices I can afford to have more of this stuff around for doing electronic projects the right way instead of kludging something together to just, "Make it work."These even came in a sealed baggie inside their retail packaging, which I assume helps keep them from corroding. It worked, there is no rust or oxidation. I just keep them in the retail package, as I do with several other specialized crimpers, it helps me keep them straight when I need to crimp some specific pin. These are cheap enough that you can buy them for a project, you don't need to be doing a production run to justify the cost. Great item, recommended.

Really good crimping tool
Place the terminal in the correct size jaw, squeeze a couple clicks to hold terminal without actually crimping, insert stripped wire to proper depth then crimp until jaws bottom out and grips automatically release. Easy-Peezy

not really for JST pins
I specifically wanted a crimp tool to handle the very small pins on JST's...this I find too large and it crushed the pin when crimping it...but works fine on "normal" molex pins and such...just not the tiny ones...I found the Engineer brand to the correct one for them...

Fine for XH (2.54) poor for PH (2.0)
I've been able to use this on a few XH connectors successfully, but nearly every PH crimp I've attempted has not turned out. Despite what the description says, I don't think it's meant for crimping the PH 2.0 connectors.
