The 1/2 inch side of this shutoff valve when used on a threaded pipe will it leak without teflon or teflon is required so it doesn't leak?

Solid! Fit well!

Hesitated a bit because of the 4 star avg review. Decided to try cause everywhere else is 2x more of the price. Glad I did, the valve is great quality and fit very well. The change took less than 5 minutes. I only needed one and don’t think I’ll ever use the other unless I move. Good buy!

Great Quality Supply Valves

I’ve had to replace decades old water supply valves under sinks on many occasions. Changing out a leaking valve that required numerous turns to shut it off(especially if that had to be done in a hurry) with one that is only a quarter turn is an export goal for any DIY’er who upgrades existing bathroom or kitchen plumbing. These valves work perfectly and are very well made! And easy to install. VeryGood

Almost Great. But Can't attach to wall.

To say that I was disappointed when I received my water stop valve order is the day's understatement. I saw these at half the price I have to pay at Home Depot and figured here is my chance to replace all the water shut-off valves in the house. Neigh neigh.First, let me say that these valves are perfectly acceptable for some people and will get the job done. I have no doubt. But I have a healthy fear of plumbing projects and have learned via trial and error what will work for this old house from the 90s. Electrical projects, I am perfectly fine with that. Something about getting electrocuted doesn't bother me. I think it has to do with the fact that it would be over quickly if it ever happened. Plumbing, however, can flush you out of house and home at a vexing speed, requiring me to build an arc for all my things. And that is just way too much paperwork to try to get through City Hall. So, back to these valves. I purchased them, aside from being the right size, because the closure is a quarter-turn ball closure. Lasts longer and is easier to turn on and off when needed. And these valves are built very well in that department. Although, compared to what I have handled before, the handles could be a bit more ... sturdy. But I need more than the handles to stop me from using them. The main reason is that while the 3/8" side has a nut and brass crimper, the larger 1/2" side ... you know ... the side that connects to the wall and the water supply does not. Now, granted, for some people, this is not an issue, in which case I say, "May you have fair winds and following seas." But for someone replacing shut-off valves with nuts and crimps, removing the old ones from the pipe requires sawing through the metal. Something I am not brave enough to do. So instead, I reuse those nuts and crimps on the new valves, and things have been working fine and dandy that way.And even if I were brave enough to cut through the old nuts and crimps, not having a nut on the wall side means that to tighten the valve, you have to turn the entire valve ... including the part with the handle. So there is no way to determine in which location the handle will end up ... north, south, east, or west. And life under the sink is already a compromise of contortions that adding one more might break me.But that is just me. As I said, if that connection issue does not bother you, or your needs are different, then these are some beautiful stop-valves at an amazingly low price.

Quality Craftsmanship

These work exactly as they should. The valve body is solid. The threads didn't have any defects. The seat rings looked good. I used these to replace all the shut-off valves around my older house due to normal corrosion. Kitchen sink, bathroom sinks, utility sink... I didn't have any issues with a single one.Yes, I used straight valves instead of angle valves. I prefer using these because, in my experience, they seem to hold up longer and allow an easier, less turbulent path for water. Angle valves have a hard corner in their design. They never seem to survive very long with the corrosion and grit of city water. The slightly extra cost of using straight valves with street elbows seems worth it in my opinion.

Low pressure beware

The media could not be loaded.  After getting them installed to replace the worn out ones, the pressure produced is a trickle when the old busted ones produced a full flow. Not happy with the flow. I do like the 1/4 turn feature but I fear that may be the issue.
