Reasonable for the money
Purchased for scoring bread , does a reasonable job but took a while to get the hang of

It is not a blade but a piece of blunt ...
It is not a blade but a piece of blunt, curved metal. If you use it for lower hydration dough you probably manage to score it. Other than that it just ripped and pulled the softer bread dough

Ok but not the best
Product ok. Doesn't cut aswell as I thought. Hacks the dough a bit

Garbage - not actually a lame
Ok, so I'm fairly sure a lame is actually a handle for a razor blade. That's what they are, a handle and a razor blade used to score bread before baking. This is...a piece of plastic with a piece of metal shaped like a blade. It sort of looks right (which is why I bought it) but the blade is not a razor blade, nor is it replaceable. Nor is it for that matter, actually sharp. It's just a basic cut piece of metal. The whole point is that the blade needs to be razor sharp to slice through the dough without dragging. There is zero point to something that isn't even as sharp as a regular knife.I've completely wasted my money. It's garbage. Do not even consider buying this. It's not a lame and it won't make the nice sharp incisions you are looking for. You would be better with a sharp kitchen knife. This is just a piece of metal stuck in a cheap plastic handle.

works ok
Still waiting to make a large loaf seemed to work on a batch of dough I made. Fits the hand well

Totally inadequate for the intended purpose
Totally useless for the intended purpose. Very poor. The "blade" is just a very thin piece of sheet metal. It is not actually sharpened. Sure you could cut you hand if you jabbed it into your palm, but that is not the point. It just made a mess of my dough when I tried to make my incisions. It did not slice at all, just dragged the dough. If you are the type of person who maintains your kitchen knives in a sharp condition, you do not need this tool. A sharp paring knife is infinitely better than this tool.Do not waste your money. Mine is destined for the bin.If you want this type of tool, I suggest looking for one which takes an actual razor blade and can be replaced.

Do not buy this
I feel sorry for people who are just starting to bake and don't realise that this lame has ruined their bread. The important thing about a lame is that it is very sharp. If it is not sharp enough it will pull on the dough and ruin the bread. This product is not a blade - its a piece of thick foil that is made to look like a professional curved blade .... it isn't. The cover doesn't stay on either ... which isn't really a problem to be honest as the 'blade' is not sharp !!
