Appbot Bxapriley – Robot with Security Camera

Riley has been a great addition to my home security system whilst it does look like a toy it functions really well as a mobile security camera and allows me to check areas where I have no cctv coverage. It worked out of the box and I was running it from my iPhone in minutes ; the instal procedure was very simple. As it's a small robot you do get a floor view of everything but it has near 360 deg viewing so no problem. Image resolution can be adjusted and is excellent as is motion capture. The only weak spot seems to be night vision where I find coverage poor. The robot is moved via the smart phone app and it quite good although adjustable sensitivity would be a nice to have as would a patrol mode where it can go over a predetermined path.

Do not buy this robot, the Amazon advert promotes the 'security' angle again and again. But the appbot is useless, it is meant to monitor day and night and record/alert you when someone sets off the camera. But the night vision doesn't turn on automatically, and the camera can't see anything in low light conditions. So the appbot will not alert you, or record anything if someone breaks into your home after dusk, or unless you keep your lights on at home all night! (or both day and night of you are away from home).

Good toy but no software for surveillance, you need to have app running all the time but it does move well and responsive shame it can't just patrol your property don't buy they don't give you a refund £130 out of pocket because of this company I have postal document so it looks like legal action

I use this for checking on the pets when not at home, or for a quick scout around the house when in holiday. Have never had any issues with the app and have viewed crystal clear HD pictures and enjoyed fluid control even from the other side of the world. On the odd occasion if the internet connection is poor or limited it has been a little laggy but 95% of the time it’s perfect. Night vision is good and the ability to capture images and alerts are useful. But overall it’s the fact that it’s a mobile camera that makes it a useful device and a flexible addition to a regular security camera system.

This is a great complement to a 'proper' security camera, not an alternative. I use it to occasionally check when a camera picks up a noise off-screen, mostly it's just a techy toy - which is why I bought it!

Great fun toy. Works fine with IOS. Good range in the house. I can lie on the sofa and send him to the front door to check my mail. Wish he had arms to get beer from the fridge.

Don’t buy does not work remotely at all over the internet or the response is so slow making it virtually useless. Ok as a toy when using home WIFI.

Lo uso muchísimo cuando me voy de vacaciones, con él recorro toda la casa y miro como está todo, es una tranquilidad la verdad. Se estropeó la bateria pero la sustituí por otra igual muy fácilmente y como nuevo. muy contento.

My buddy first purchased this robot and showed it to me. I looked it up on amazon and was concerned about the mixed reviews, with Amazon's return policy I figured I'd give this thing a try and if it sucked I would just return it. Set up wasn't that bad, pretty easy actually. I have been messing around with this robot for a few days now and it has worked out perfectly for me with no issues. If you have bad cell service in places it will lag a little. I wish you could change the tilt sensitivity as it is a little snappy. I say give this a try and if you don't like it just return it. My cats are so fascinated with it I often find it toppled over when I get home. It would be cool if they had a flying drone version of this robot.

Sembra un giocattolino ma non lo e' . Ben fatto e solido , nulla a che vedere con gli standard cinesi . Facilissima installazione , basta seguire il foglio illustrativo , si connette con l'app al vostro smartphone . La visione normale a colori e' si' , un po' scura , ma sufficiente nelle ore diurne . Il led infrarosso invece permette di vedere al buio ben oltre i 3 mt. La fluidita' dell'immagine e' buona e sufficiente per farlo gironzolare per casa . Provato in 4g e va benissimo , in 3g un po' meno ma ci si riesce ugualmente . In 2g e' meglio lasciar perdere ! Provato anche in esterno in giardino su mattonato alquanto sconnesso e non ha fatto una piega e non si e' mai ribaltato ! L'alert sui movimenti e' sufficientemente sensibile come anche il face motion. Insomma , che dire , una piacevole sorpresa ! L'unica , diciamo cosi' , pecca e' la mancanza dei roller di ricambio . Dove trovarli ? ho scritto alla Varram per saperlo e sono in attesa di riscontro . Per chi lo utilizzera' : pulire spesso i cingoli in gomma perché raccolgono molto sporco oppure pensate di usarlo come puliscipavimenti . :)

Ich war etwas skeptisch, als ich den kleinen Robot bestellt habe, das hatte sich aber sofort nach Inbetriebnahme erledigt.Das kleine Teil funktioniert super und auf Anhieb. Die Installation ist in mehreren Sprachen und bebildert mit dabei. Bei mir hat es sofort funktioniert. Die Bedienung ist intuitiv und klar verständlich.Wo ich etwas Bedenken hatte, ist die Fernbedienung außerhalb des W Lan. Ohne Probleme hat alles in Bild und Ton funktioniert. Wie es ausschaut, hat man auch eine direkte Verbindung zum Bot und nicht erst irgendwie an einem Server anmelden. Es gibt so viele, aber einfache Einstellmöglichkeiten.Die infrarot/Nacht LED leuchtet das kpl. Wohnzimmer bei mir aus und es ist alle sehr gut zu erkennen. Der Bewegungsmelder mit Video oder Bildaufzeichnung auch sehr gut. Man bekommt sofort eine Meldung aufs Smartphone, wenn sich was bewegt und kann direkt zuschalten und beobachten. App muss nicht aktiviert sein. Mein Hund war ganz irritiert, das der Kleine auch mit meiner Stimme sprechen kann. Es gibt 3 verschiedene Auflösungen im Bild, Gesichtserkennung und viele kleine spielereien.Das Mikrofon ist recht empfindlich und man kann gut im Raum mithören, ohne dass jemand was merkt.Aber jetzt kommt’s, das kleine Teil fährt nach Aufforderung super cool und vollkommen autark auf die Ladestation. Das selbst Aufrichten klappt eben so toll. Ich habe bis jetzt nix rumzumeckern war ein echt guter kauf.Ach, man kann beliebig viele Geräte mit dem Bot gleichzeitig koppeln wie man will.Ich denke, jeder weiß aber auch, das ein gutes W lan und von weiter weg eine vernünftige Handyverbindung gegeben sein soll.
