Rowenta Steam Force Steam Iron DW9230 - White and Red

It's been nearly four years since purchasing this excellent iron. If I'm to be perfectly honest, it's the best iron I've ever used period. But it's not without it's flaws. The iron is heavy but we'll balanced. It only uses tap water but with the excellent anti-calc mechanism, to date, I haven't encountered any issues with this aspect of the iron. Therefore no need to purchase distilled water. The soleplate is very good, but there's room for improvement with respect to cleaning and the use of alternative materials, ceramic, glass etc. But for me, the key feature is the copious amounts of steam power generated by this device. This iron cuts through my weekly laundry with a breeze, making light work of denim, khaki etc. With performance comes consumption and yes it does have an appetite. A full laundry basket for instance will require approximately 1 - 1.5ltrs of water depending on material make-up of your laundry. There's no cable stowaway mechanism. It processes an inherent water leak emanating from the filler spout lid when closed. But my most recent gripe is the moulded assembly located at the top front of the handle which has now developed a fracture, which has come about due to the levels of heat developed by the iron. As of this review, I've brought this matter to the attention of Rownta, who will pick up my iron and carryout an investigation. Dispite it's short comings, I will, depending on the quality of service I receive from Rownta, purchase from again. I highly recommend this device.

Halfway through my ironing, my 20 year old Rowenta blew an element and slowly died. I decided to look for a new iron, but old habits made me look at Rowenta again. I read the latest reviews on this iron, and though expensive, you do pay for the quality and longevity on this iron. Having kept the old Rowenta pouring jug, I can confirm that from empty, the irons water tank takes 1/4 of a litre, but top up after 3-4 items if you start on the cotton setting. This sounds a waste, but the steam on just the normal iron, although very steamy, is well worth it. On turning the setting to cotton, my jeans have never looked so nicely ironed. I didn't have much to iron but thought if I had a large amount that the steam would make the user too hot, but I don't think it does. I didn't find the iron too heavy as a heavy iron gliding on steam, makes ironing very easy and less tiring. The only downside for me is the spray button is where I want to hold the handle which meant I had to use the end of the handle, it should be where the picture says it is, but I will get used to it. Overall, I'm going to enjoy doing the ironing from now on, especially once I get used to the features, but once broken in, it could be the best iron I've had yet.

Only tried for a day and it seem really good, the steam water finishes very quickly so might have to refill often. Overall good , I am Dissapointed on the price as I Could have bought it for £10 Cheaper at John Lewis 😒

Have always purchased Rowenta irons. Good build quality, smart features, and easy of use. This model is no different, able to use tap water, so no special deionised water needed. This has a steam generator function, so when in use you can feel a very slight hum, when steam mode is on, as it generates steam on request, the shot of steam function is effective and irons out any creases in cotton or linen fabrics. Long enough lead, and light enough it's nice and easy to use. Only downside if it is a downside, being a steam generator you'll find yourself filling the water tank more often when the steam mode is on .

For many years I have used Rowenta Irons. I have tried others from time to time but have always returned to Rowenta. From a purely personal point of view I much prefer quite a heavy iron. The job is done much quicker because a heavier iron gives a crisp smooth finish in half the time it takes with a much lighter iron because with the lighter iron you have to keep going over the fabric a number of times to get the same result. This iron in my opinion is the best one yet. I have been so impressed I have bought two. Lots of steam from the semi steam generator so it goes through water quite quickly. The only down side which is a bit of a pain is the fact you cant see very well to fill the water chamber up. I cant comment on the durability of this iron because I havent had it long enough and we live in a very hard water area. My iron probably only lasts for a year! It feels well made and only time will tell how long or how well it performs in the future. Very pleased so far though. I have now had two of these irons since my initial purchase in the spring and I cannot tell you how very disapointed I am with these. Despite following the instructions on descaling etc both irons now hardly steam at all and both irons really are noisey! From being initially delighted with these irons I find that now I would not be able to recommend anyone to purchase. I feel for the price they should have been steaming and serviceable for way over thebsix months that I have been using them. Incidentally this is just a household of just two adults so wouldnt say these irons are heavily used.. Very very disapointed.

Good to use but the water container flip top lid broke after two uses which is unacceptable for an iron over £100. This is why I’ve given it 3 stars only

Excellent iron. Used Rowenta iron many years ago and was just as good then, just haven't been able to find one in the high street stores. There is good steam and extra shot of steam and also a water spray facility. Highly recommend.

I have had Rowenta irons for most of my married life, but this one just didn't suit me, I found it very heavy and not easy to use as I had to really stretch to reach the buttons which to me seemed too far away, the iron was big and heavy, such a shame because I ended up buying a Bosch and in my opinion not as well made as Rowenta irons, for some reason though Rowenta don't seem to be making many irons nowadays!!!

Fer acheté en offre reconditionnée à un prix défiant toute concurrence ( 20 euros), je ke trouve parfait pour l'utilisation que j'en fais ( je repasse au fur et à mesure de mes besoins ). Son poids est important mais aide au repassage. Il génère une vapeur importante ce qui est bien utile. En conclusion , fer pratique pour une utilisation quotidienne.

Returned because was a European model and per plug. Timely credit given. Ordered another, American model, and very satisfied with the product

Genera una gran cantidad de vapor, en modo continuo el agua del deposito dura muy poco, pero es que está continuamente generando mucho vapor. Prefiero usarla con los golpes de vapor. Es pesada pero no me resulta incomoda.

Arrivato nei tempi, imballaggio perfetto, articolo conforme a quanto descritto. Pensavo ci stesse più acqua nella caldaia, ma forse ero abituato con il ferro a caldaia separata. Di grande facilità d'uso, il consumo d'acqua è notevole, a stiratura continua un pieno dura circa 5-6 minuti. Va in temperatura in tempi decisamente veloci. Ottima stiratura su tutti i tipi di tessuto. Una chicca la punta con il vapore che permette di girare attorno ai bottoni e raggiungere i punti critici. Il getto di vapore è notevole e dopo una passata il tessuto è pari a quello uscito dalla stireria professionale. Altra chicca l'aggancio del cavo sul manico che presenta un meccanismo girevole anti attorcigliamento del cavo. Occhio alla potenza: 2750W. Quando è al massimo, limitare gli altri elettrodomestici (forno elettrico, boiler, phon, lavatrice). Se in casa ci sono i classici 3 Kw di potenza (max 3,3 di picco) si fa in fretta a far saltare il imitatore. Secondo me è un prodotto ottimo. Tenere la tanica con l'acqua a portata di mano.

Es rentiert sich immer wieder, etwas mehr als 100 € für ein Bügeleisen zu investieren - die Funktionalität und Langlebigkeit unterscheidet sich doch meilenweit von Billigprodukten vom Discounter oder Billigvarianten der Markenhersteller. Gegenüber meinen etwa 10 Jahre älteren Vorgängermodell wurde deutlich an der Ausstattung gespart: die Leuchtanzeige für die Einstellung fehlt und die Titanbeschichtung der lasergehärteten Lauffläche hat man sich auch gespart. Dafür sind die Dampfstöße stärker (sehr gut) und es passt wesentlich mehr Wasser pro Füllung in den Tank (auch sehr gut). Leichte Mängel: 1) wenn man das Bügeleisen abstellt und wieder greift stellt man sehr leicht die eingestellte Leistungsstufe zurück und 2) beim Befüllen ist der Wasserpegel nur sehr schlecht zu erkennen. FAZIT: Im Vergleich zu einfacheren Bügeleisen immer noch der Hammer! Auf das Kleingedruckte in der Anleitung sollte man schon achten: In Regionen mit sehr hartem (kalkhaltigem) Wasser die Befüllung zu 50% mit destilliertem Wasser vornehmen - dann hat man auch ein Jahrzehnt was von dem Bügeleisen.
