The best thought out head torch I've owned.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this head torch. I've owned a small emergency head torch by Petzl before which was very well considered for its purpouse, so figured I couldn't go to far wrong with them - but my expectations were surpassed. A few things I love about it: - Build quality is good. Materials don't feel cheap or flimsy and it's well weather sealed. - Being able to have a rechargeable lithium battery in it but also use AAA's as a backup is the best of both worlds - functionality is simple, only 3 brightness levels on the main beams, and red solid/flashing mode. - the battery life indicator when you turn it on or offf is excellent and very handy - the ability to lock it with a long-press is something I don't know why isn't on every head torch, the amount of times i've found a torch dead after it turned on in my bag is beyond counting If i had one complaint, it's that you still need to open up the battery compartment to charge it, rather than a USB port on the outside. I can understand that compromise though as it's a standard AAA battery compartment and the rechargeable battery is a removable item which the USB lead plugs directly into. I suppose that actually is rather handy, as it allows you to recharge it separately while using your backup AAA's to keep the torch in action. Overall verdict- excellent head torch with good life, plenty of light on tap, and some very well thought out design.

Super bright and great battery
Great headtorch, the battery life is great. I used this on an 8 day trek up Kilimanjaro and now use it for late night dog walks. Very robust, lightweight and the light has all the right functions from a wide light to flood a tent or an area to a very bright lime to look ahead on a trek .

Reliable, good beam
You can't go too far wrong with Petzl. Well made, withstand drops (up to a point), and the beam is a nice pool of light. However this for some reason doesn't feel quite as comfortable against the forehead as an older model I had, and the button works slightly differently which I'm having to get used to. If you haven't had one of these beforw that won't be an issue. You can also make a lantern from this with the clever bag provided.

Great head torch
Used this whilst hiking and wild camping on mountains and walking the dog at night. Comfortable, good value and the light is really bright. It has 3 light levels. Low, mid and high beam. I’ll attach a video showing all 3 settings for you. It comes with a rechargeable battery but can also use AAA batteries if needed. Great head torch. Looks and feels well built. Worth the money. Feels nice while wearing, not too heavy. Has all the functions you’d expect from a good quality head torch.

Good product. Does its job.
I'm pleased with this. I bought this brand because of a recommendation from a running site and it has lived up to the recommendation. I use it for running on winter evenings so it needs to be reliable in order for it not to leave me stranded in unlit lanes in the middle of nowhere. It's got decent battery life so far (I've only had it about a month), is easy to charge, has a good quality strap so doesn't loosen or wobble around and does its job. It is cheaper than other ones marketed for running but it doesn't seem to lack anything.

Bright, lightweight and reliable!
The PETZL Actik Core has exceeded all my expectations! As a rambler, I needed a headlamp that could handle outdoor adventures while being easy to use—and this one ticks all the boxes. The brightness is very impressive, with multiple lighting modes that adapt perfectly to different situations, from a soft glow for reading to a powerful beam for night use. The rechargeable battery is a game-changer—it’s environmentally friendly and lasts long enough for extended trips. I also appreciate the option to use standard batteries as a backup. The design is lightweight and comfortable, even for extended wear. The adjustable strap fits snugly and doesn’t slip, which is crucial when you’re on the move. Another standout feature is its durability. It’s built to withstand the elements, and the water resistance has come in handy during recent rain and snow. Overall, the PETZL Actik Core is a reliable and versatile headlamp that’s perfect for both outdoor enthusiasts and casual users. Highly recommended!

Rubbish battery life
Really disappointed with this torch. It's a good torch if you only want light for about an hr. The battery is AWFUL. m I brought it for ultra running and the longest it has lasted me is 2 hrs and that isn't even with the highest light setting on. Waste of money for me unfortunately!

After having bought one, I bought another one of different color, and then another one of different color, so we can tell, whose light it is. We are extremely happy with the performance and the features it has. I do recommend this Petzl ACTIK CORE Headlamp.

Reliable Petzl quality throughout. Easy button layout and function. Super bright and great lighting levels available with a simple single button click. Plus red mode. The band is super comfy for long paddles and hikes. Might be the best petal headlamp of the 4 that I’ve owned over the last 15 years.
