Not for connecting a Mac monitor thunderbolt to hdmi laptop
Had to return it as it is not suitable for this use…. Just putting this out there in case someone thought it could be possible.

Cable EXCELLENT quality...just a little too chunky....
EXCELLENT quality. I have a Microsoft Surface Tablet 2017, with native support on the screen rather than having to haul the docking adaptor about... BUT, the image is misleading, the cable is like 3 phase electrical! It's almost as thick as the plug that goes into the Mini DP. It's a good job it's 3M as if it were shorter, I really think it would push or pull the tablet round the table because of it's inflexibility.I now carry the docking station in my backpack as it gives an extra 4 USB 3.0 Ports and can support 2 x Mini DP, but if i were wanting to travel light, I'd go for a cheaper, thinner option, round about the £20/$20 mark.Not often you 'knock' something for being such good quality, I was just slightly miffed that the image does not at all represent the scale of how thick the cable is.

Done the job !
Needed Mac to be visible via my TV, worked as soon as I figured out which HDMI Port I had plugged into, clicked on both TV & then the sound set up via Mac & I was able to test both internet & video download which worked perfectly on the TV.
