Great multiplayer
I'd like to say firstly that I am not a huge fan of Marvel and so my review is not really appealing to the hardcore fans.I bought MUA as a good multiplayer game (Offline co-op) as I have a lot of friends play on my xbox when they come around. If anyone is a fan of Baldurs Gate: Dark alliance, then this game will feel very familiar. But it's differences from BG:DA can be seen as a positive or a negative..Whether you're a hardcore Marvel fan or not, everyone has their favourite super-hero. This could be: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade or some lesser known characters such as Moon Knight. That is something that makes this game very accessible, as it allows anyone who may not essentially like this type of game to just jump into a familiar character and do some fighting. The combat in this game is similar to Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance. Infact it's much more advanced that that, but can still be branded with the term 'button-masher'. Each character has a number of standard melee attacks to use, as well as 7 or 8 special moves and one 'ultimate' move. You can also pick up weapons that you can use. This game provides a simple combat formula to someone new, but provides a lot more to play with for someone who's played the game lots.A lot of people have commented on the game being classed in the RPG genre. Each of the characters gain experience points which in turn increase levels. When you increase a level, you do not allocate points as this is done automatically. Each character has 4 different unlockable costumes which have bonuses that can be upgraded with the money you acquire throughout the levels. You can also upgrade your different moves for each character with money. You do not pick up different Armour or weapons as you would do in other games such as BG:DA, but there are items you can collect with different bonuses.Overall this game is really good. There are lots of characters, lots of really varied and interesting levels to explore, lots of things to unlock, good multiplayer (both online and offline), fun combat and a lengthy story. There's also some cool things in the game such as some characters being able to fly and simple yet interesting puzzle/boss fights. If you're expecting an in-depth character customisation with complicated fighting controls then I'd readjust your expectations, but still buy this game as it's worth your time and a spot in your collection.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I purchased this game as a lightweight RPG, something a bit less involving than Oblivion but still something I could get my teeth into. After the inital hours worth of play I had to pause the game and check the box, to make sure I hadn't misread the 'RPG' allegation on the back. This game is most certainly not an RPG. If it is an RPG then I am baby Jesus. The game is however a 'button masher' comparable to Streets of Rage (or if your old enough to remember - Golden Axe) The actual mechanics of the game are pretty much press (A) 'til the enemies are dead and then walk to the next area, repeat 'til dinnertime or boredom set in.Its not all bad though so dont get all depressed if you have just bought a copy, the characters are varied and each have their own personality (except spiderwoman who doesnt even pretend to be anything other than the v*gina enabled spiderman) and if you are into the whole Marvel comic thing this will be WOW!!!!111lol!! I can be wolverine!!!! BOOYAA!!! (or something)All in all, if you can ignore the RPG lies and expect only a fun arcade style walky fighty game it will rate 4/5, if however you puchase with intents of geekiness...2.5/5

Not PAL version but that is ok...
Product is complete with a great disk and manual. Unfortunately, it is the NTSC version of Marl UA, not a big deal since it does work in PAL versions of the Xbox 360. Would have liked to have known in advance what version it would be.
