Brilliant but deep
Most reviews talk about a `gangster` film, but this is a film about the human mind. When the say Chess and Cons are a dangerous combination, that's because chess and cons equal consciousness, which is what Avi and Zack represent, that's why and the end of the film they say to Mr Green " we are not doing this because we like you we are doing it because we ARE you" they ARE Greens consciousness, they are telling him to `wake up` to become aware of himself. They keep saying "where is the last place you would expect a enemy to hide" and the answer is? ,, inside your own head.

Not Gold...maybe Silver.
As films go this is OK but... and I'll keep this as short as I can, it's Guy Ritchie attempting to be Tarantino and failing. It's a cross between Reservoir Dogs. Kill Bill with a bit of Fight Club and The Usual Suspects thrown in for good measure, with Stathams character having Keyser Söze syndrome! It's kind of slick but these days very formulaic and as I have said not a patch on Tarantino.A quote from The Usual Subjects, directed by Bryan Singer and spoken by Kevin Spacey's character, Roger 'Verbal' Kint, which sums up the whole thing Revolver is about, nicely...'Who is Keyser Soze? He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone'.

What a brilliant film!
Guy Ritchie deserves a standing ovation simply for doing something completely different from his Lock Stock and Snatch. Departing from your own successful stereotyes is a risk that every creative person has to take at some point. And Guy has done it with such an outstandingly brave flim! You need an open mind to appreciate Revolver. The movie talks about using your finding your real enemy. Where does your real enemy hide? What's the last place you'd ever find him in? Why does he prevent you from breaking conventions and embracing the novel? And ultimately, who is he? As I watched the film, I found that I was holding myself back from accepting the stark reality and the ultimate challenge that the movie threw at me.I think that's the reason why Revolver received so few rave reviews. Very few can accept what the movie has to tell. In fact, I'd say that by making a movie that is so daringly unconventional, Guy Ritchie proved the point he's made in the film. He lived what he has preached. Well done to you Guy!I found the storyline and the characters laid out in a very original style. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. We don't yet have the yardsticks to judge it. You've to go by your instinct. Like it or hate it. Go ahead with an open mind and I'm sure you'll discover something valuable.

Revolver
i read the reviews of others on here and against my own judgement i decided to purchase Revolver. i was expecting to be dissapointed, what i got in actual fact was something completely different. i now know why people think it is not such a good film. this film is an attempt to break the mould and try for something new and unique, ritchie has tried to leave behind the british gangster genre in an attempt to avoid repetitiveness.he has changed his style in the film plot and effect whilst remaining faithful to the techniques he has used in his other films such as the twist at the end and the way we delve into the character minds.but it is the sheer fact that he has changed the his style of story telling and also the look of the film that has made people believe it is a failure.this is not a bad film, but it is open to anyones interpretations. im not dissapointed as i thought i would be, in fact i am pleasently suprised by the difference of the film. i took a gamble on this film because i like the directors previous work and i am satisfied in the end.

Buddhist con movie
Nice movie. There are a lot of mind games and good moments to get from this movie.I like the idea of mirroring Mr Green and Macha destinies. At first, they are quite similar; Macha is more successful and richer, but Green is younger and smarter. No doubt that he could match Macha's success in a few years.. But confronted to his eminent death, Green takes an unexpected path. With his two helpers, he will find the inner peace and will stop identifying himself to his own ego (that gave him the desire of success, the dream of greatness, and the will to please Mr Gold by any means). On the contrary, Macha is going to be totally consumed by all those desires (I find the "fear me" scene great and Liotta does a great job interpreting it)And, as usual, the "good" guy gets the girl at the end :)

'Tries to be too clever'
Guy Ritchie tries too hard in this film to make things over complicated and tries to be too clever. The constant repetition of quotes gets on my nerves and at the end where i expected it all to fit together....it leaves the viewer asking questions and drawing their own conclusions. This is frustrating as a constant watcher of films and it has to be said Guy has made worst but he has done alot better with films like snatch. On the up side Jason Slatham is superb and really gets into his character. Overall this film is good for a bit of action and if you want your mind twisted into ways you never thought possible but not if you want a satisfactory conclusion....a generous four stars.
