Excellent oven!
This is my 3rd different mini oven in 7 years, and by far the best and most efficient. The temperature control actually seems accurate and unlike my last one, you don’t just have to cook everything flat out as it leaked so much heat. This operates and cooks like a full size oven, albeit much smaller. The internal fan is probably partially responsible for this. Love the oven light too. Only one slight niggle, the timer control is only marked 30-60-90-120 minutes and is difficult to judge the sometimes unusual timing of ready meals. I would have preferred more granular markings. However, I am getting used to this. All in all a very well built oven, and I expect it to last much longer than the others. I think, being such a prestigious brand, that spares will be more available if required. Something which has proved impossible with its predecessors.I’m very happy with my purchase.

Glad I bought it
I was unable to make cheese on toast because the grill on my main cooker packed up and that is why I bought this. So as soon as I unpacked it I gave it a quick clean and oh yeah I had a cheese on toast frenzy. I've also cooked pizza, oven chips, fish, pies and roasties and it has been excellent. I use it more than I expected to and it's good as a second oven. This is so handy because now I can make meals that require different temperatures at the same time, which makes the Sunday roast much simpler to do. I was a bit concerned about it's power consumption but when set to max temperature and the fan running it uses about the same amount of power as my kettle. Most things don't require that much power so it's not too expensive to run. I found it easy to operate and the controls are clear. It is as easy to clean as they claim so happy with that too. The accessories and the build quality feel good so it's definitely a thumbs up from me

A great buy
We researched small ovens before we decided on this oven and we have not been disappointed. It is very easy to use and looks stylish in our kitchen. It does get hot on the outer casing ( but according to other oven reviews, this is the case for small freestanding ovens) but it is not too hot...the best thing about this is that the oven top makes a great plate warmer. We bought this to use as an oven for warming meals or producing meals for two - the idea being to save energy by not using the large kitchen oven. This has worked well for us and is also useful as a second oven when we have a large family event. We are pleased that we made the decision to buy this oven.

Basic but does the job.
It does what I want at a reasonable price.Setting accurate cooking times is difficult as it uses a mechanical timer. The temperature set seems to be quite accurate.

This is ideal for single / couples who have limited space or need for a full oven
It has been purchased for my widowed mother who has moved to a single bed warden controlled flat with limited space. It has replaced the need for a full oven allowing more drawer and cupboard space. It carries out all the functions she needs of an oven .

A stylish, well-made and efficient addition to your kitchen
I have had this for six months or so now. I wanted something quicker and more convenient than my full-size oven which takes a long time to heat up. I have previously had cheap compact ovens but these had all-or-nothing temperature settings and weren't even as big as this is. This, however, is big enough for one person, heats up in a jiffy, cooks evenly and looks good into the bargain - the timeless Dualit style looks good in any kitchen. On the expensive side but I can't fault the quality; the whole thing has a solid, well-built feel to it and should last years. The markings on the dials aren't very big and there are no minute or even five-minute gradations on the timer. Recommended.

A brilliant substitute for smaller needs!
Brilliant - I've been using mine since september '17 - one of the best things I've bought for the kitchen! My main oven takes an age to reach temperature and normally takes more time than any stated time to cook something. The acid test for this dualit oven was a humble frozen pie - if the oven didn't do as it was meant to, it was goig back.Oven preheated as instructed at the required temperature (it took about 4 minutes), pie in for 30 minutes. I could tell by the colour and smell that it was cooked spot on - no skewering to check the centre was hot - jod done :-)Yes the controls seem a bit basic, but this is good, simple, reliable british design. It doesn't take much to get used to the relatively uncalibrated thermostat and timer. The oven size isn't huge but it will fit a medium chicken and cook it perfectly.

OK for roasting, poor for grilling
This is the second unit I've used. The first one lasted about 5 years with regular use and was satisfactory in every way. In view of this I replaced it with another. Sadly, the new unit is not as good as the old one in one major respect for me: the grill never gets hot enough to grill rare steaks which need the outside well done before the interior cooks. The grill element of the first unit glowed noticeably red, whereas the present unit I can see it just glowing. The oven gets hot for roasting, but the temperature gauge is not accurate for roasting. Temperature regulation is very poor, so much so that I was driven to testing it with an oven thermometer. In fact, I used two different makes to iron out inconsistencies with the readings. The results were as follows: (first figure oven setting)100C = 160120C = 175140C = 180160C = 190180C = 210205C = 220230C = 235Figures not shown on the temperature setting are guesstimated. You will see that the largest discrepancies are at the lower end of the scale nad having a practical lower limit of 160C is really not acceptable.I'm now of the opinion that this item is design flare over practicality and as such is overpriced for what it offers (or does not).

Deeply Disappointing Quality for Dualit
I have to support some of the reviews on Amazon (US) expressing deep disappointment in this product. I had hoped it would be the quality of the classic toasters, but not remotely. Lightweight construction and quite rudimentary controls for a "professional mini oven". Also does not have an easy toast function - presumably not meant to double as a toaster.

Dualit Mini Oven Quality
I recently ordered and received a Duolit Mini Oven. This is my second Duolit oven, my earlier unit is about five years old and I am pleased with it. I ordered this new Duolit for my mother who has eyesight issues and not adept with push-button digital electronic controls. I chose a Duolit because it has simple control knobs appropriate for a mini-oven (toaster oven). The oven received is their "new" model. I find its sheet metal work inferior to the one I have in use. The control knobs no longer use text and they are no longer marked with high contrast labels. Instead, Duolit has chosen icons and the markings are of lower contrast. Given the hefty price over other toaster-ovens I expected better exterior cabinetry. The new knobs are not useful with people with low vision. It seems Duolit has followed the maxim, "if it ain't broke, fix it till it is".

Very disappointing.
I have a Dualit Classic Toaster. It's built like a tank-- good fit and finish with quality materials. This Dualit Mini Oven is nothing like the Classic Toaster. It feels/looks very cheap and lightweight. The door is flimsy. The sheet metal case is very shiny and wafer thin-- flexing easily.Materials, fit and finish are generally disappointing-- sharp unfinished edges, cock-eyed screws, misaligned panels etcVery poor quality for a $250 toaster oven. Looks more like a $30 ovenIf you are expecting the same build quality as the Dualit Classic Toaster [and at this price/$250, I think that's reasonable] it is very disappointing
