Wall Plate for ecobee New Smart Thermostat Premium EB-STATE6-01 and 2022 ecobee New Smart Thermostat Enhanced EB-STATE6L-01

Edit: Ok I was wrong, it looked and felt like aluminum when I was handling it. In fact, the sound was like aluminum. However, as it warmed up in the house, the sound became duller and it became more apparent this was not stamped aluminum. It does still look amazing, but I wanted to make a correction to what you see below in the original post.This is a aluminum stamped wall plate, that is bigger than what I was expecting and made it extra awesome because of that. I have a large hole behind my Ecobee Premium, I was using a slab of hardwood that fit over that hole and made the area look better, but it still stuck out like a sore thumb. Around the hole, it is obvious that repairs happened around it as the wall is rippled and damaged almost like they repaired the area without supporting materials like fiber or mesh and forgot to sand it smooth. That is beside the point, the reason this is good is because it offers a larger area to cover that damage and looks stylish when installed. I have to say it would be a inexpensive but great looking wall plate regardless if you have damage or not around where the thermostat installs. I didn't even know they made these and am happy.

At first I was concerned because the Ecobee's black is shiny whereas this wall plate is more matte. But when the two are paired together, it's not as aggressive as I figured.Installation was easy. The plate includes 2 screws and anchors. Instructions state that this is specifically for the EB-STATE6-01 and EB-STATE6L-01 Ecobee models, After a bit of simple modification, I was able to get a EB-STATE5-01 to fit with very little issue.I personally think that the wall plate sticks out from the wall a bit too much for my liking, but others who've seen it think it looks just fine. Though the way it sticks out from the wall is likely because I did not use one of the models which was approved for the wall plate.Either way, it's suitable so I'm sticking with it.

I loved it because it's really big.Coming from a dinosaur thermostat and probably (literally) 100 years of paint layers, tenant after tenant, when I upgraded my thermostat to an ecobee, there was a super thick "rainbow" of wall paint layers that became visible when the dinosaur thermostat was replaced by an ecobee premium.The old thermostat was so big that it even had an air hose and something that looked like a tiny vacuum cleaner that sucked air from other areas in the house.It was super easy to install. And now with the ecobee I have remote sensors and no longer need that dinosaur hissing in 7 different rooms in my old Craftsman house.

Fits well but expensive for a piece of plastic

I ordered this item in error. I did not read the full disclosure of what it fits. This unit does not fit my ecobee3 lite.However, I can say that this unit is made of good material built to last. It is of good quality and simplistic in design which I really love.

Ordered this without realizing I did not have the 2022 version of the ecobee even though it was recently purchased for a local store as new, but was able to make adjustments to fit an ecobee v4 using a Dremel tool.Pro: Large base, black color to match room design, larger to cover imperfections due to inlet wires.Overall: Good purchase. Just make sure you have the new 2022 release to avoid modifications.
