The fixings are easy to use (screw lock)... the base is heavy and sturdy and I simply could not ask for more. I have a Samson Meteor Mic attachewd to the screw attachment as well as a Tiger pop filter and the whole set-up works perfetly on my desk. The extension and range is excellent for the price!

So... I chose this stand because of the reviews and well... it has lived up to the hype... Its a mic stand(!) and with a reasonably quality for the price. Using it to hold an outside kick drum mic (Shure Beta 52A) and having a round base makes it easier to position than a small three legged one. The base is just about heavy enough to balance the weight of the mic with a useable boom extension. Would I buy it again? - Yes.
