After the medium is dry is it waterproof? Can you put fabric/clothes into the washing machine?

Hi yes, this is a medium that is waterproof (the colour does not run) AFTER heat fixing - then you can wash even up to 60 degrees in a washing machine. You can also bleach your fabric and the colour/ pigment you applied with this medium will not fade int he least.

Can you still use it if you're not able to "heat fix" it, eg, on a couch?

Heat fix with hair drying on hot but don't get too close.

Does this dry hard as its for a fabric bedroom chair ?

No it does not, when mixed properly with the right mix ratios with paint and used thinly it is not stiff on fabric, I have used it to stamp designs with and then heat sealed and washed in a washing machine and it feels like normal fabric. If it’s applied very thick though it might ?! Hope that’s helps
