Gargoyle/Crested gecko light
I’ve had this bulb for a week and so far it’s been perfect for keeping my gargoyle geckos vivarium to the correct temperature, it gets highs of 28.5- 28C at the top of the vivarium, the vivarium I have with the light is 30x40x45cm, then it gets cooler the lower in the viv you go. It produces good UVB for the garg, if u feel like u need to lower the amount of uvb your gargoyle/crested gecko gets you can just put the bulb above a piece of glass, as UVB can’t penetrate glass. it’s just a bulb though so you’ll need to get the right sized hood to fit the bulb to(width of viv, all hoods hold the same bulb size) I will update this once the bulb breaks to let it be known how long the bulb lasts for, but so far so good.

Manufacturing error…
The strangest thing. Bought 4 of these Terra Natural Light Lamps to replace expired ones for my Terra lamp housing, and not one of them worked. I switched the new lamps around with other older ones that did work, to make sure it wasn’t some other factor like the light fitting, and consistently it’s the new ones that didn’t work. When I put them side by side I can see that the screw section on the new lamps is shorter than the old ones, such that it fails to make a connection with the electrical contact. The gap is too much to be able to just bend the contract pin a bit. It’s the same manufacturer model and, same lamp, same reference number. Just for some bizarre reason they’ve changed the manufacturing spec. Our maybe these are inferior copies? See photo - old lamp on the left, new shorter thread on the right!Follow up: I checked with the manufacturer and they confirmed that this should not be the case, and it seems that these bulbs (I can’t say if any others/how many others) appear to have had the wrong screw caps fitted. So if you find they don’t fit, no you’re not going mad, send ’em back! :s

Fitted this to a reflective light dome over my Pacman ...
Fitted this to a reflective light dome over my Pacman Frog terrarium, it hangs about 12" above the floor and is keeping the live plants (pothos, ivy) growing well :)
