Worked with impact, did not break
I purchased this and the snap on version just in case. Was very difficult to break loose with a breaker bar so out came the Dewalt 1/2 electric impact. I beat on this socket with the impact and the ring came right off. The socket withstood both removal and installation of the new ring. Not sure how people broke the pins. The pins did not break. Honestly, for the price, if i had to buy a new one for every set of bearings I did with these 4-pin rings I would. This socket took a beating and is still functional. Will buy again if i ever needed a fresh one.

Works well & cheaper than tool trucks
LOT'S cheaper than the blue & white tool truck and absolutely better quality. The tool truck socket broke using with a hand ratchet, the replacement one came in with a bent/broken tab. Amazon socket was perfect and worked perfect.

Falls apart
Dowel pins fell out of the socket within seconds of first use. Bought this to do the job right and still had to use an air hammer to remove the nuts. Don't buy this especially if you plan on using it more than once.

Great OEM tool; wholesale price for a retail purchase, awesome!
Got this barely one day after I purchased an OTC 7921 version which was sold by O'Reilly's. Can't resist the temptation to compare so I did. From a head to head stand point, this tool had more poise than the OTC. But in fairness to the more expensive OTC tool, I decided to put both to the test. Findings: this relatively cheaper tool outclassed and out powered the more costly OTC. I both abused it while trying to really tighten my OEM adjusting lock nut for the wheel bearings on my '07 Tacoma Pre Runner. I used both in combination with an extension bar, a long ratcheting wrench and sledge hammer as I locked the hub and bearing with 2 large clamps on a table. Even the table could not sustain the battle of strengths so I finished on the floor with these items still clamped. This tool had unbelievable grip and tightening power. In the end, the lock was placed where it rightfully belong: bottom of the hub, reinforced with Loctite to dispell doubts of it ever coming out, after I staked the nut. I picked this over the OTC because at the back of my mind, when using the OTC, I didn't feel any secure, its 4 prongs looked weak that it would fall off on the first turn and I am a seasoned DIYer. With this tool, I was able to turn the nut 360 degrees in one turn and believe me it was not easy. I took more than 4 hours trying to lock the nut because I had to file the threads from an accidental damage to repair and clean those hub threads. I felt a great surge accomplishment knowing that the nut will stay for as long as it takes, thanks to this great tool.

Did what I needed it to
I didn't have a single issue with it. Everything worked as it should and I used a breaker bar just to test it and it busted the nut free so no need for impact . Good tool for the arsenal.

Gets the job done BUT beware of one thing!!
This tool gets the job done. However!! Keep in mind before purchasing that the pins are NOT welded onto the socket. The pins are pressed In and they most likely WILL come off while using it due to vibrations. That is what happened to me, the pins constantly kept falling off while trying to loosen and install the nut. I had to keep putting them back in. I even tried putting them backward to see if they fit more snug but they kept coming off. Again, this gets the job done, which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1, but it’s by no means a quality professional tool. If you are a DIY guy that needs to change the bearings on your own truck and probably will only use it once, then go for it but keep in mind the pin issue which can be annoying. If you are a professional tech, definitely stay away from this tool, get yourself something better.
