This brush does the job perfectly!
I have long hair (and lots of it!) I recently went back to boar-bristle brushes when I decided to start taking better care of my hair in an attempt to make it healthier. This brush is fantastic as distributing oils from the roots to the ends of your hair when used regularly. It is definitely true that the bristles won't penetrate very thick hair (which is the case with me), but the process for brushing your hair just works differently when using this type of brush. The way I use it: before bed, I section my hair in two by putting the top half of my hair up. I first brush the bottom half, making sure to get as close to the roots as possible. I then take my hair down and repeat with the top half. It is more of a process than brushing your hair with a brush that has stiffer bristles, but the very reason that boar-bristle brushes are so great is that they are gentle and prevent breakage.I think boar-bristle brushes are a necessity if you are trying to grow your hair out, and this brush does the job perfectly! It's a cheap, good-quality brush that I would absolutely buy again!

Perfect Brush for stressful, frizzy long hair.
I absolutely love this product. As soon as I received it, I was excited to try this brush out!I suffer from extremely curly, frizzy and knotted hair. I have tried hundreds of brushes in the past to try and brush out the knots and frizz of my long hair. I use expensive shampoos, conditioners, treatments to alleviate some of the frizz and knots but after washing, my hair feels like it's been through a twister. The usual plastic "Tangle Tamer" brushes are incredibly painful on my head, I've tried them all!But this brush... my gosh, it's soft, gentle and makes my hair feel so smooth! I do recommend, if you have hair like me, to brush in sections and try not to touch hair so much as it makes it static (I did this at first because I was amazed with the feel).Product came brand new, unused and next day (I'm a prime member). Slight mark on the back of the brush & a part where the bristles look as if they are missing but I'm not fussed as it's barely noticeable. The pros completely outweigh this. I've been on the official "Kent" webby as well, and can see that pictured brushes seems to have that missing bristle (as previous reviewers have commented) so perhaps it's part of it? doesn't effect use at all! it's not even noticeable unless you really look at it.I haven't tried it with wet hair yet but will update post as soon as I have (as this is where the 30 mins of constant pain and detangling begins)EDIT: Trial running the brush through wet hair was at first difficult when not brushing in sections. Once you have sections, start from the roots and brush down, pain free and easy! It's still time consuming doing sections, however it's no longer painful and doesn't take as long as a normal brush. I am looking into getting some more brushes from the collection :)

Good for people going Low/No Shampoo
I bought this brush as I'm trying to go Low Shampoo (Low Poo. If you are unsure what this is, please do Google it. You will get a much better explanation)Many people recommended a boar bristle brush to help move oil down the hair, meaning it can reach the normally dryer ends. The idea is that this, along with other things, will help extend time between hair washes and improve hair health. I have been using this brush for about 2 months now and it seems to do that quite nicely. The quality of the brush itself is great. It is a decent size paddle brush, made of good quality wood and bristles. I checked with Kent, and the PF07 brush is 100% Boar bristle. I have had 2 bristles fall out since purchase, however I am washing it every other day.I have quite thick hair, so to use this brush I section my hair off to make sure that, when brushing, the bristles can reach all strands. Doing it this way can leave your hair looking a bit flat, therefore I brush at night just before going to bed. Please do bare in mind that I have bought this brush purely for moving oil down my hair to the ends, and not as a general hair brush. For daily use and styling, I have just bought a wooden paddle brush.Overall, I am very pleased with this brush and use it very regularly. Quality product!

Bringing back proper hair brushing!
Two things about brushing with a real bristle brush I didn't know before I bought this: 1) The bristles actually have cuticles like human hair which helps them to grip your hair properly and evenly distribute your natural oils. 2) It's really therapeutic to sit and brush your hair properly for a few minutes rather than raking a brush through the knots before legging it out of the door! I decided that (for no really valid reason at all) I would treat my hair to a bit of an old fashioned brushing - 100 good strokes of the brush before bed every night, a la Victorian lady. This brush is good not because the bristles make light work my very thick hair, but because they don't. To explain - getting the real benefit of a proper brushing, you need to start underneath and really make sure you start at the scalp and work in small sections. I know it sounds like a faff, but it should only take a few minutes and my hair really is better for it - less greasy at the roots and less dry at the ends. And it's a nice few minutes of 'me time' that can be protected by brandishing the sturdy wooden construction at anyone who dares to interrupt!

Too Soft For Thicker Hair or Long Hair
Disappointing brush. The brush itself is quality however the bristles are so soft and close together that it is really only suitable for a small child's hair. When you brush it feels so soft and pathetic that it does not brush your hair adequately enough to style and is really quite ineffective. I have thick hair which is just below shoulder length so need a brush that really penetrates your scalp. Currently using a Kent brush which has metal and bristle which is why I thought this one may be good also but sadly was mistaken. If you have thin delicate hair and a sensitive scalp then this may be suitable for you.
