This is an interesting educational tool, the $20 cost is a little high and I think $15 is a better price. I ordered it for my 8-year-old granddaughter as it says in the description Ages 3, 4, 5, and 4 to 8 years of age, the age range described is confusing. It was not challenging enough for my granddaughter who knew all the letters and words and lost interest quickly. I would say the age range is 4 to 5 and possibly 3 if the child is ready to learn. There is a very flimsy light yellow drawstring bag to hold the pieces that will easily tear with wear. In the box, you're getting one wooden piece that has a square on one side for the puzzle and the other side holds a card and the three letters that spell the picture on the card. The 54 doubled sided cards are a good size and well made but they will easily bend in the hands of a young child. The 54 doubled sided (letter on one side, picture of puzzle piece on the other side) different colored wooden letters seem well made of some type of wood and only time will tell if the paint comes off or the letters wear off with use. The description states that the wood parts of the toy are non-toxic and the cards are made of card stock covered with PET film which makes them a bit stronger than paper-type cards. The letter blocks are a choking hazard so something to be concerned about if using or gifting to a 3 or 4-year-old. I would order this toy again for a 3 to 4-year-old child that has guidance when using this educational toy.

The little kids wanted to open up the puzzles right away and found them to be enjoyable. I like that it has both puzzles and a word game. I have a kindergartener, 1st, and 2nd grader. I would say it is good review for my 2nd grader but probably not going to be something he will do often. My other 2 will be using this to make words. The puzzles have the letters on the back and the main plain wood piece for the puzzles and words to sit in has 2 sides as well. One more for puzzles and the other for the words and has spaces for the letters. If they get a lot of use, the pictures might start to fade or come up but they look attached well with a modge podge type coating. It comes with a pack of word cards with pictures on them. It is a cute little set. It is not too huge, which is good since I have several kids and need to save space when I can. It also is not so tiny that we will easily lose pieces or little ones won't choke on them. To me, it is a great size.

Great educational toy

As someone with a small child who is learning to read I thought this reading set was a fantastic idea. Hands-on, and cleverly designed, a great way to sneak some extra learning in during playtime. With it being wooden, I worried about sharp edges, but this set was smooth and lovely. Completely splinter, and consequently, worry free! It also thoughtfully came with a carrying bag because getting the set back into its original packaging was nearly impossible. Unfortunately, my kid tired of the kit pretty quickly. We tried playing with it several times, but she could never quite get into it. Perhaps what I loved about this kit – namely the simplicity – was the very thing she found boring. Either way, a very well-made and attractive product. Just not one my little girl is too into.

I really like the 54 colorful wooden letters in this set, they are one of the highlights and can be used in a variety of ways to help children learn lower case letters (upper case letters are not included). The backs of the letter blocks have pictures on them, each color coded set of nine letters makes up a different animal puzzle picture. These puzzles can be a fun activity for small children.The set also includes 54 double sided flash cards with pictures one one side and pictures with the related word on the other. These are useful for small children learning new words or beginning readers learning basic spelling. They are all three letter words in the consonant, vowel, consonant format.The set also includes a double-sided board with recessed areas for placing the cards and letters. The other side if the board is recessed for doing the puzzles without the letters. While the board is a nice feature and can help keep the activity controlled, the set is just as usable without the board. Our board had a little discoloration on one side, that came off pretty easily with some light sanding. The set also includes a reference sheet showing each of the puzzle pictures and a bag that can be used for storage.I feel the wooden blocks and the flash cards are the best features of this set and they can be used in a variety of ways with children from about one to six years old, or beginning speakers to beginning readers and spellers.

Running out of things to do for the little ones at home and this is a great product ti keep them busy for a good hour or so. Different combo of words keep them thinking and learning. The material are strong and good quality, toss and throw won’t break easily. Colorful and good for little hands and easy to visualize. Good to have around the house so the little one is just not on the monitor the whole time. Great for its value.

I gifted this to my nephew who is homeschooled and he loves it. The pieces are sturdy wood, they don’t chip like others we have ordered and they come with flash cards and a great carrying pouch for travel

The is such an amazing learning tool. There are several words to learn and six puzzles. The puzzle pieces are easy to find as the pieces are color coordinated on opposite side . It comes with a carrying case and the wood pieces have smooth edges to prevent splinter. My son will be two in a month and this was a hit with him . He loves puzzles and learning. This is great for at home, daycares or school. Also a great gift option.
