This card reader does work, but did not work on the national ID card, which was used.
I am rating this product 5 stars, because I am nice. But importantly, I believe the actual card reader, does work. Unfortunately, it did not work on the Latvian ID card, which I was using it on. Apparently, there was not a valid certificate and that the status of the national ID card has been "Revoked" So I will assume that the problem is within the ID card, and not the card reader machine itself. Delivery was super quick. As expected (Prime). The card reader was easy to use, but did take a moment, to realise which side the card reader scans the chip, and the value for money, was fine. I Will keep the card reader, for any future uses.

Plug & Play. Easy Install, Worked Perfectly.
I tried this card reader for a Portuguese Citizen Card and worked perfectly every time. Very easy to install as just plugged it in and worked for me. I did not need any additional software on both my Macbook running MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 and Windows 11. I haven't tried any other ID cards but I am sure as long as there is a readable chip, it should be fine.

Superbly easy to use, worked first time straight out the box. Feels well made and sturdy and fitted with a good length of cable.Was able to read every card we put in it with no problems at all.Very happy with it.

Works with Portuguese Cartao do Cidadao
Bought this to use with Cartao do Cidadao from Portugual and it works perfectly

fine for a year - but now does not work
Worked fine for a year - now it won't read cards.Wasn't damaged in any way - so not sure whats going on with it - but I couldnt recommend as it should last a least a couple of years.
