Q: Can i use machine dye by hand

Yes I soakedthe towels I wanted to bye in a bucket, they held the bye well. The left over I tie dye.

No because when you use salt it sets the dye

Q: would one 50g packet be eenough to dye a thin white jumpsuit?

It says on packet One sachet is enough to dye 250g of fabric to the full shade or up to 500g of fabric to lighter shades (250g of salt required). Use multiple packs to dye larger quantities

Q: Is it ok to mix two colours to make a different shade?

I am sorry I do not know how ever I have done tie and dye which did well the colours did not run.
