I had hoped that it would disappear once I had the baby but over 6 years on and it is still there. I have it on each cheek all the way up past my eyes on the side of my face. As a result I have always spent so long in the morning doing my makeup, although I never fully managed to cover the dark patches (despite really caking it on - which loooked possibly worse than the melasma itself). The little coverage that I had never lasted all day anyway. I would find myself having to reapply in the evening if i was doing anything. And then I saw a review for Dermablend. I must say that changing from the foundation that I had been relying on for years filled my with dread. But after practicing the night before I ws going to wear it to work I was converted! Just a little bit blended well gives fantastic cover. To be honest I have not even thought about my melasma! And it lasts all day!! It has really restored my confidence - so much so that I am no longer so ashamed of my dark patches. I never used to let anybody see them - now I am not bothered as I know that I can cover them up well if I wish.
