Revell Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter Model Kit (Scale 1:72)

Just finished this puppy. Wow. Just wow. The details are amazing. I used the water transfers with micro sol to get them to bed down. The R2 unit is 10x5x5 mm and it has 9 transfers!! I did paint a fair bit and added weathering so it has taken 3 days on and off, but blimey it's a damn good kit. No casting lines and the attachment points ( to the sprue) are in hidden places. I used a sprue clipper and hardly had to sand/file to get things smooth. I have built the tie fighter, R2/R5 and AT-ST kits so far. They are all brilliant. Well worth the price. Now I just have the Y Wing, C3 and Falcon to do....

These new Bandai kits are possibly the best Star Wars models ever produced . The quality of the sculpting of this X-Wing is remarkable and the kit is so well engineered that it fits together with no apparent seam lines and with no glue needed . The option of either stickers or waterslide decals means that the model is ideal for beginners as well as experienced model builders and the problem free fit of the parts enables the model to be built in an afternoon , or over the space of a couple of days , if you want to put a little more work into it . And the fact that it comes with a "Death Star " diorama base means that it can be combined with other kits to create an impressive display . On the strength of this , I've sent for both the TIE Fighters in the range and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up buying them all . Highly recommended .

Very good and detailed, but more like 15cm not 30cm

A fantastic kit. The detail is incredible and it was a highly enjoyable build.It is is quick to assemble, however, the scale can make the application of decals tricky.The set does not need technically need to be painted but the process of painting and weathering is both enjoyable and increases the overall look and display-ability of the piece.

Another Bandai Star Wars model to add to the collection. In my opinion, Bandai are currently the premier producer of Star Wars model kits with quality, fit, attention to detail and "buildability" like no other. Very impressive! It would be rude not to recommend this model to all modellers with an interest in this genre. Thank you Bandai.

I've just built and painted this following a build of the Y-Wing. This model is excellent and I've enjoyed building it very much. Find my Channel TheThorpester for a full video on the build. Wonderful models these Bandai kits are and with the X-Wing, you can pose with the Wings open or closed.

OMG, the detail in this is beyond fantastic. So many options of display and easy to build. Does require painting as some parts are white plastic whereas others are coloured but a great model and sits perfectly with others in the range, Tie fighters and Y Wing etc.
