Dreadful..avoid at all costs
Dreadful quality. The instructions are a joke. Just drawings of all the pieces numbered & you match the numbers at connecting points with the suggestion of using cover picture as a guide! There is step by step instructions on website but you would need patience of saint to make it through them.I can overlook this but the crappy quality of product is unforgivable. The shapes were not cut all the way through. On several pieces it stopped just shy of the join so the pieces was chipping by the time I got them out.The horses feet werent level on one of two of the pieces so they dont sit right in the carousel. Two pieces didnt fit so I had to cut the hole to put the carousel together as a result it doesn't spin properly.I did manage to put the carousel together but it was stressful & the resulting carousel is flimsy.

A good model but not for beginners
Like all woodcraft kits your have to get to know how they "work". Make sure that you understand the how and why of the assembly sequence before you start. Before pressing the parts out a thin bladed knife is needed to cut where the laser cut has not been completed. Do not assume that you know better than the assembly instructions, until you have tried to follow them; i.e. follow the number sequence, even if at first it seems not to make sense. Sometimes a subassembly is built before attaching to the main assembly. Always handle gently, this is a model not a toy. Before starting be prepared to 'fit' the tongues into the slots and have the appropriate tools to hand (small modelling files and knives etc.). The carousel kit is not for learners, start off with a simpler model such as the swan to get your hand in.If anything goes wrong don't blame the kit or the manufacturer, put it down to lack of experience. I have been modelling for over 50 years, this kit took me about 8/10 hours, and I completed it without damage or difficulty, and I suffer from arthritis in my hands. The finished model is worth the patience and care it will take to build it, and is one of the showpiece models in the woodcraft range.

IT IS GOOD
SOME OF IT GOES TOGETHER VERY WELL YET SOME IS EITHER TOO LOOSE OR A BIT TIGHT. YOU WILL NEED TO USE GLUE ON THIS AS THE ANIMALS HAVE 2 PIECES EACH AND WILL NOT SIT TOGETHER WITHOUT IT. THE INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE A BIT CONFUSING AT TIMES SO YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE PICTURE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS NEXT. IT IS A BIT FIDDLY WHEN NEARLY COMPLETE AS YOU NEED TO PUT A RING OVER THE SUPPORTSSO I DID THIS WITH ONLY A COUPLE OF SUPPORTS ON THE FED IN THE REST. TAKE YOUR TIME DOING THIS AS RUSHING IT WILL MAKE IT GO WRONG OR END UP BREAKING PIECES. IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO COMPLETE IT BUT I WAS HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. I HAVE HAD A FEW OF THESE 3D PUZZELS SOME BETTER THAN OTHERS QUALITY WISE BUT THEY ARE ALL GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE PRICE. PAYING MORE FOR ONE DOESNT GUARANTEE A BETTER QUALITY.

not the best
Have had a couple of these and got to say this was not the best the wood was thin and bits broke even though you try to be gentle so there are pieces you can't use and are then missing off the finished item sturdy when finished is about the only good thing what a shame

Fragile and no instructions!
Oh dear, I'm not usually stupid at putting things together but why on earth can't they supply some instructions? None of it seems to make any sense and the bits splinter and break every time you are obliged to change a piece round. Lawks, I've got three different items in this series and I thought I'd started on the easiest one. Seems possible the others will remain forever unassembled in their plastic wrapping!

Simple and reliable fun
So easy to build and no need for tools. I always use a spot of gel superglue on each piece but it isnt necessary if they are to be left as ornimental. I use the glue as visitors always admire them and pick them up. They can be painted but i think they look great in the raw wood retro wooden toy style. So cheap too and being flat packed and smaller than a letter box, the kits make great gifts. I'm working my way through the complete collection... there are LOADS to choose from.

Doesn't go together without filing down.
I've had to file away at several locations to get them together, broken pieces that should have slid together easily and I've now given up because every time I try to put something together on it, I have to do more than "just slot it in." It's the WORSE made woodcraft I've ever had and I've had loads!

Hard
I did find this difficult so requires a lot of patience (and glue). Looks good when finished
