Review: Very good at reasonable price - I have used Peltor slim passive ear defenders for clay shooting for many years but decided to try an electronic set. These make it easier to hear one's fellow competitors speaking but also to hear the scorer calling a kill or a miss. The Impact Sport headset is slim, light and just as comfortable to wear as my old passive set. Ordinary noises such as speech or birdsong are transmitted clearly but the sound of gunfire is muffled at least as effectively as my old ones. The volume control is easy to use and I cannot think why one would want individual control for each ear unless perhaps one's hearing had already been damaged in one ear. There is some white noise when the volume control is turned up very high but as I found the ideal setting was about one third of the maximum, this is not likely to be a problem. The order was delivered within two days of ordering. At £61.99 post free these are very competitively priced and very effective.

I purchased these electronic ear-muffs for target shooting. I am very new to the sport and I wanted to make certain I will be able to listen to the instructor's advice and any safety instructions without having to take the ear-muffs off (thus risking having my ears unprotected when someone else would fire). I have used it once so far and it works very well. I am able to amplify my surrounding sounds and at the same time, block any loud sounds (such as gunfire). The ear-muffs seat comfortably on my head and ears and the fact that you can control them using one button only makes them very user friendly. I would recommend this product to people that are interested in blocking loud souns but still maintain an excellent awareness of their surrounding environment.
