I love this product!I have very long (almost to my backside) fine hair but there is loads of it!Curling it with a wand woks but takes an age and requires a lot of product. Product + fine hair is not a good mix,. Add to that the weight of my hair and what you get, is a very temporary curl that quickly becomes a wave. This arrived today and I am a very happy lady. I did have to play around with how thick a section to take and how long to hold for but quickly figured out that this no different to my crimping days.I had my whole head done in 45mins! I did it in 2inch thin rather than thick sections, on the highest setting and held for 5-10 seconds. Next time, I will do underneath to the roots and just to cheekbone level on the top layers as I think this would look more natural on me.The wave itself is very natural looking and not at all crimpey- once you get the angle right. I found that if i held the waver the wrong way, I got a line from the lip of the side of the barrel on my hair. Getting the angle right was easy enough to figure out and I'm not exactly the most skilled of people when it comes to my hair! That was this morning. It is a very wet & windy day, most of which I have been out for (with a brolly of course), and my hair has held its style! Result!I can't say that I agree with the critique that the jumbo waver is too heavy although it is BIG! That's what it makes it so fast though. One big criticism that I do share with others is that it could definitely use a casing, like the back of a straightener, on the back of the part that the 2 barrels nestle into. There's no logical reason for the lack of casing. I was glad of the warning from other reviewers as it gets extremely hot and this design flaw makes it far too easy to burn yourself. As others have said, the packaging is very nice and the product is as efficient as it is effective BUT I wouldn't have spent £60 on it! I'd spend that on decent straighteners but not on a hair waver! I think £22.95 is about right.I'm looking forward to playing around with this but if these are the results that I get when I don't quite know what I'm doing, I fear my straighteners are about to become redundant!

Great for hard to style hair, good value even at full price
I really like this waver. I haven't tried any other brands but have been impressed so far. The wave looks natural, especially if you wave smaller sections so that large areas are not identical.I think it would work well on most hair types, even ones that are usually hard to curl or tend not to hold a style. I have thick wavy/curly/frizzy hair and have used the waver in 2 ways.1. For everyday use I leave my hair to dry naturally and use it on the hottest setting (as I have thick and hard to style hair) to tidy up my natural wave/curl. I leave it on for about 10 seconds and overlap as I go down the strands. I tend to wave from about 1/3 of the way down my hair for a more natural look. This stays in for a couple of days.2. If I want a more polished look (e.g. For my wedding) I first straighten my hair then section it off to wave on the hottest setting, and apply hair spray afterwards. My hair has always been hard to style and this lasts the majority of the day, though the waves are less defined as the day goes on.I've been really happy with these and it's even better that I got them at a significant discount. I'd recommend even at full price.

Big beautiful hair created by BIG hair waver
Not a bad Hair Waver. Very pleased with the heat settings as I have very thick hair! Although this waver is better suited to those with LONG hair as I burnt myself on the side of my face pretty badly due to trying to wave the sides of my hair and the sheer size of them. However, I learnt my lesson damn quick!! I would advise heat protector (I use VO5 Oil heat protector - it keeps hair shiny and soft) because as mentioned before they get incredbily hot (220V I believe) The best way to stop the waves from falling out is to mist hairspray onto the section you're about to style, make sure that it's given about 10 seconds to settle otherwise you're going to damage your hair!! For volume, I would suggest back combing the roots of your hair and then wave it. Tousle it with your fingers to separate the waves slightly to give it that awesome big finish! Hairspray to keep in place and you are good to ogo! But I'm pleased with this. I love my hair like this!!

Excellent luxury looking styler for a very reasonable price
I was in two minds about buying this because its not by a known brand, but I trusted the other reviews and the price was very good. This is a solid item, heavy, but still easy to handle. It comes in a nice box, which makes it look far more expensive than it is, a luxury looking product. The idea that you could adjust the three sections of the barrel appealed to me as I've been concerned that I'm frazzling the ends of my hair with over styling. being able to set the bottom of the barrel on a lower heat, whilst maintaining a higher heat through the rest of the barrel prevents too much heat at the ends whilst providing enough heat further up to produce a good curl. It takes a it of practise to get the curl right, as it does with any new product, but this far easier to get to grips with than some Stylers. . I particularly struggle with the wand Stylers, so am pleased that this comes with a clamp. The advantage of this styler is that the clamp only runs an inch or so up the styler and not all the way up like some, which can affect the shape of the curl. In all I'm very impressed with this and would consider some of the other styling items in the range.

as much as I love this product
Can't live without this. Makes your hair retro-beautiful and unlike any other heated styler I've ever used. However, as much as I love this product, this is the second one I've bought that is now starting to break. It must be something to do with the wiring because it works when you hold the lead in a certain position. It's been about 9 months since I bought this new one and the old one started to die around the same time. I'm very careful with it so I'm not sure why this happens. I want to love this more but can't get over how easily it starts to die. Can't really afford to buy a new one every 9 months! This is a genuine review and I bought this item myself :)
